Born and raised in Mt. Vernon live in CT now. This video brings back a lot of memories. It reminds me of where I came from and also it reminds me of how far I have came.
I was born in Yonkers and moved to Mount Vernon in 1975 at 10 yrs old, and lived here ever since. I've lived in every area . I'm now on the south west side for 25 yrs. That's about half my life. Excellent driver BTW 😎🌠
I was born and raised in Mount Vernon on south 12 ave in the 50's and 60's went to Davis High School and Mount Vernon High school when it was built. I miss it still.

I keep telling y'all, Mount Vernon is not that bad of a Hood. You can find way worse Hoods than Money Earnen Mount Vernon. Dont forget, plenty of stores, nice homes, no encampments, mixed culture. IT'S ALL GRAVY BABY!
Where in the hell did you attend school. ??? Appears to me that you missed the classes on English Grammar !!! As I've said numerous times, Mount Vernon used to be a very safe, comfortable town and this included the Southside . Then came the 70s and drugs and crime initiated the sad downward cycle for this once very desirable town to call home. The Northside still remains pristine with nice cars in the driveways of well manicured lawns that frame the beautiful homes . It's quite sad , just drive down the once thriving 4th Avenue which says it all ... Note, do the 4th Avenue drive during the daytime
Me too , mount Vernon , Yonkers , Bronx , Brooklyn, queens . I lived with all my family , from house to house and I now live a happy peaceful life in CT.
Y’all know that brazilian town in the south near foodtown I fear that place because the south is the most ghetto my dad is always working as a cop near there today there was gangs outside my fav brazilian restaurant
This video makes Mt.Vernon look like it's a quiet and clean city, don't fall for the okidok this city dirty and foul af ,4 square miles of murders that never get solved and just about every city officials are corrupt. I grew up there and still have a lot of family and friends there.
Fleetwood is notably more wealthy and safe than the other areas of Mt Vernon. The city overall does have a “hood” rep (it’s called MurdaVille for gods sake) but fleetwood is very nice
Mt Vernon is cool. It's hoods, but it's not slums if it makes sense. If you cool and don't start no problems with no one, then you'll be aight. But don't be fooled by the appearance. Shit be going down, shots be getting fired.
