Enjoying your channel and content. I live in Tucson and would also recommend some other trails and trail systems I think you would like and would be great for you to visit, besides 50 Year that you mentioned: Sweetwater Preserve, Honeybee Canyon, McKenzie Ranch, Vail Vortex, Fantasy Island, Mt Lemmon, to name a few of my favorites.

That's a fun trail to ride. Personally, I like starting from Genser. Normally I don't like technical climbs, but for some reason, that one clicks for me. I'm riding flats though. Looks like you didn't film anywhere else, but hopefully you hit Mt. Lemmon (Bugs-Molino Basin), Fifty Year, Honeybee in Oro Valley (26 miles of easy desert back country with great views of the cats and torts) and Sweetwater. Plenty of camping options at each spot.

I will definitely go to Tucson again soon and those places are on the list…any camping spot recommendations are helpful! Thank you for watching 😊

I lived down there last Winter for four months while working. Rode all the area's multiple times. You did a great job on this route. It can be done either direction. There is a lot more to explore out there. If you have time, check out Sweetwater Preserve, the Colossal Cave area. If you want more cc type terrain look into Hohokam Trail to the Makenzie Ranch section. It was built as a CC race coarse and it's flowy and fun. If you have time check out the Patagonia area. It's about an hour drive from Tucson south. There is a awesome loop that incorporates a good section of the AZT. Starts at the school in Patagonia for a great loop. Completely different than Tucson. Reminded me of northern California. Have fun.

AWESOME, you made it down to Tucson, my fav place in AZ due to the lush cactus forests there. I happen to like rocks and chunk so I get what you're saying. However, there is a great smoother surface ride there called Honeybee. Its a gentle climb up, then a long roll back down. Try it!

Hi. I just stumbled onto your channel and glad I did 😊. I live in Vermont but visit AZ every Spring to visit my parents who live in Sun City. I did a similar loop to you outer limits ride 2 years ago. What fun. My fav was Ground control. Spectacular views from the top and although a double black was very rideable. Last year I did Tucson for the first time, as I love Sedona so much, but there was flooding and mud/rock slides up there. I rode the East side. First day was a shuttle up with Homegrown Shuttle co. Started at bug Springs and ended on LaMilagrosa. I'm not normally a lift access or shuttle type of rider but OMG that is a must do. Chunky and technical for 4.5 hours with over 2k climbing and about 7k descending. Most memorable ride ever. We also explored the 50 mile trail and surrounding system for recovery day rides the next two days and loved the rolling hills and flowy trails. You have to try it. Highly recommended. I leave for AZ 2/29/24 and staying for 4 weeks this time, normally just go for a week to 10 days but I just retired from a 38 year career at IBM and going to ride my ass off for a month this time. I'm so stoked. If you are in the area during March I'd love to have a riding partner as I normally ride alone. I enjoy it but need to be a bit more cautious that way. Last years Tucson trip I had my Son along and it's was a good thing. Two Superman's over the bars. 😂 He is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and I feel a lot more confident when he is along, plus he keeps me in check when I start getting too nuts 😂 Anyway ... sorry for the long comment but I'll keep watching your AZ rides for new routes. Keep up the good work and ride on. 💪

I tried to go mountain biking for the first time in a while at rail-x and I am so out of shape, that every little hill I hit, knocked me off my bike and my fat-a** was walking! xD But it was fun, and painful. I haven't been able to bike around since i was younger since I can't really keep a bike in my current place and I just been working, and not being as physically active as I used to be. I do miss riding my bike.

I hope you were able to experience other trails that The Old Pueblo has to offer because I don't feel that these are that great of a representation to what is available here. I know not where you are from, or what type of weather you are acclimated to riding in, but I do hope that somebody stressed to you the importance of staying hydrated. I am assuming from the upload date that you were not here in the summer, but staying hydrated does apply all year round. People do not realize how much water they are sweating out in this type of environment because of the higher temperatures, and low humidity, sweat does not have a chance to build up on your skin, or in the fabric of your clothes. It will generally evaporate away before enough is accumulated into a small bead of sweat that you will feel roll down your skin. In this type of environ, by the time you realize you are dehydrated, it's too late. One needs to drink an ungodly amount of water to stay sufficiently hydrated here, especially in the summertime, which although I can not find the exact amount, I recall that during a summer's day, a rider could lose over 1.5 L of sweat in a single hour!!! So, if you should ever return, please be well-hydrated long before beginning any rides, and take more water with you than you think you will need!!! I hope you enjoyed your visit here!
@ThinkerOnTheBus

Although one can spot wildlife around Tucson at anytime of the day, if you want to ensure that you definitely see some wildlife, you need to go out in the early morning hours, before the temperatures begins to rise, for that is the time when most animals are the most active.
