The lady and I went high to escape the heat. We set up our screen room because the bugs were lively. We sat and enjoyed the high alpine view on a dead-end road for all of 30 minutes. The sky looked great to the SW - where storms usually come from. But, lo and behold, a storm snuck up on us from the NE and it began to rain. We quickly packed up the screen room and tossed it in the truck and headed back out. It's rocky enough on this mountain that we weren't concerned about the road. Rain turned to hail starting out gradually and progressed to a full blown hail storm. Now this hail storm was nothing compared to folks on the front range or even the midwest. But, it was pretty loud and definitely cooled things off. Later when we headed down the mountain, about 5 miles down the road it was dusty.
