The ghost whisperer pants are more for ultralight backpacking. Something to wear around camp and sleep in. They are super fragile and you really need to wear them under shell pants or always use a sit pad. The stretchdown is more of a durable all around option. By the way, the listed weights on mountain hardwear's website are notoriously inaccurate!
I agree with the listed weights and uses. Though I have used the GW for a few years now and they are going strong. Always under a shell pant. Same with the jacket. The material has surprised me with its durability, even though it is ridiculously thin.
Hi thanks for the review. How would you compare the mobility of the those two pants? For sure, stretch down is stretchy. But does it make real difference in normal activity & aerobic activity im comparison to ghost whisperer?
Thank you for this and the point about the zip over boots sold me on Ghost Whisperer. I'm only going to wear these around the campfire while backpacking in the snow. Sub and Like added!
Thank you! I think you are better off with the GW as well, given your needs. They look to be moving fast, and are on sale. So I hope you get one and enjoy it!
Good question. I have used it in winter boots that go up farther than ski boots. No issue. But, I did not have the boots synched down as tight as ski boots. So, it could work. I have just not tried it. Take care!
