It’s not as bad as people think my opinion as for the active target for me personally I like to fish fast and it slows you down cause you watch the screen to much. I believe it can help you at times but not as much as you think. Bass get spooky sometimes and then some just bite. It’s cool to see the fish but it’s not cool watching them swim away or stare at you bait lol

@HooKSetzWithRyan yeah that makes sense, seems like it would be great for those offshore brush piles but somewhat frustrating at other times. I've been really liking side scan, it has been very useful fishing points and finding brush and rock.
