I always enjoyed a good Rendezvous we used to have one at Red Hills you might have heard of it a Red Hill State Park they quit having it and really miss it I like your video of your guys's Rendezvous it looks awesome I wish I was closer
My name is Sylvain Sybaris. I have been a drifter for over 30+ years traveling the country alone through 48 states living on the road (highways, byways, country roads & dirt roads) living in my modified travel van or at tent campsites... I hunt, fish & forage for plants, but mostly, I get food from local Food Banks & churches... I can't comprehend traveling with others because I favor traveling alone due to my lack of trust in humanity as I have been swindled, robbed & assaulted by people my entire life, so I'm compelled to remain in solitude ... I would say my way of life is rare, but I have met many people in similar ways of living as a drifter, but most homeless people I met prefer to remain in one place, where as some drift from town to town & state to state, like I do... Watching this video is interesting because the people seem content around other people.
During the early part of the summer here in South Tx there are about 15 or 20 different Mtn Man Rendvs that are available, and I have been for 4 or 5 of them and really enjoyed each. There is a big one East of Shiner TX on a ranch that is so much fun. I have been to it several different times... as it was only about 75 miles from my home.
I'm in Mississippi but Texas seems to be the closest rendezvous to me which one would you recommend for authenticity where I could get a real feeling of being back in time?
I'm a first time viewer. I just saw your interesting video, it looked like everyone was having a good time. Are the rendezvous still being held each year? Take care and thanks for sharing. 🤗
The guide mentions Hastings Cutoff--that was, sadly, a bogus shortcut that the Donner Party tried taking on their journey to the West. The time they lost caused them to get stranded in the Sierras just as winter was coming on and starve.
I posted this on other video; question:, I play music and one of things i play is didgeridoo, would i be asked to refrain by a booshway if I played didgeridoo at rendevous because it is not in spirit of rendevous. its primitive though not indigenous, but its more keeping than holding up a phone taking videos ALL the time as we do nowadays?
Im sure if you played nice not many people would have a problem with it. I mean technical if its period someone from could have had one at a rendezvous somewhere
