@@stannelson8306Born in 1959 also and just turned 65 last month. I still have the Original Vinyl "Mountain, Climbing". I wish that I could go back in time 😂.
The great Leslie West in his most famous Band and it's most well-known song. Also was in a Power trio Band called "West, Bruce, and Lang. one of the pioneers of Classic Rock. Leslie passed away a couple of years ago in his mid 70s. We are losing all of these great men who were icons of Rock from the 60s and 70s.
If I'm not mistaken, that's Felix Pappalardi on bass. He also was involved with the band Cream, writing, arranging, and producing for their second album Disraeli Gears.
The Show was a performance put on by PBS in their second year. It was held in Hershey Pennsylvania in the fall of 1969 and gathered 54 musical artists of the day together for high school-age kids to experience the music and social highlights of their time. Mountain was just one of many incredible groups, including Grand Funk Railroad's live version of Inside Looking Out.
Good reaction. I saw 🗻 Mountain in 2003 at the Sacramento Rock Festival. They sounded like this in the video. Longer guitar solos and drum solo. 🎉🎉🎉 Good reaction.
This hard rock band has been around since the late 60's-70's. They performed at "Woodstock". "Mississippi Queen" is their most famous song using extensive cowbell sounds. Some other songs were "Long Red", "Never In My Life", "To My Friend", "Crossroader", "Nantucket Sleighride" etc.
I saw West, Bruce & Laing do this song on 10/19/72 at the Auditorium Theatre in Chicago... Now that's a supergroup. Jack Bruce kicked ass that night. I went on to see Mountain three more times over the next two years… Every show was great
Thankyou for doing this live cut !!! one of my favorites ! Please consider other live cuts of a band called CHASE song GOT TO GET IT ON and HEATWAVE LIVE by Linda RONDSTAT also DONNA SUMMER song HEAVEN KNOWS duet w/ BROOKLN DREAMS , the DOORS LIVE LITE MY FIRE from ED Sullivan show also MADONNA LIVE AID
Huge man, excellent guitarist, and a voice that could only have come from someone as large as he was. I'm surprised he lived as long as he did, because physically he was a mess. Jack Bruce once called him a better guitarist than Clapton, but then Jack Bruce wasn't too happy with Clapton after Cream broke up. Still, West Bruce and Lang was a pretty impressive trio. In Mountain they had Felix Pappalardi on bass and his singing on Theme From An Imaginary Western is sensational.
