Compared to Chicago, Zermatt has no air. I was lucky enough to be able to take a trip to Zermatt, Switzerland and unicycle in a small section of the Swiss Alps.
The Matterhorn and other beautiful peaks were in view a majority of the time which made the steep trails and semi-sheer cliffs definitely worth it. But again, there's no air. Goes to show how much more practice I need to hang with the Europeans.
If you have the chance, I'd highly recommend taking on the Yo-yo trail and AHV Weg trail. Thanks to Trailforks for helping me navigate these!
Oh, but also, Yo-yo trail is incredibly difficult so take your time. As much time as you need. It's not an easy run.
I'm also very proud of my future wife and her cranking out two days worth of mountain biking on these trails. Her biggest fear was biking near sheer edges but compared to the Swiss Alps, anything in Illinois is child's play.
