There are nicer views than the one I got up there but the wind was not my friend. I’ll try again on a calmer day. The cover really drew me in too, that’s what made me pick it up.
I have to say I enjoyed both of them a lot, that being said I’m pretty much hard-wired to enjoy them. I love William Goldman’s The Princess Bride and Tress is an unashamed riff on that story. And as an Irish guy who likes fantasy, a fantasy story that is about the exploitation of the British empire is right up my street.
Hello! I was in Cardiff a couple of weeks ago. I enjoy recording outside and your background looks awesome too. New to your channel and i shall be back! I hope you enjoy reading :) I think I am the only one that has never read Pratchett. My recommendation is Jilliane Hoffman, they are gritty, but so good!!
Thanks a million for commenting and for the recommendation, I haven’t come across Jilliana Hoffman at all so I’ll definitely check her out. The outdoor recording was a bit of an experiment, I might do it again weather permitting. Which in Wales the weather generally doesn’t permit. 😁
As you are in Wales I will suggest A Morbid Taste For Bones by Ellis Peters, that's a mystery rather than a thriller though. What an eclectic list of books, and a beautiful setting! That's a lot of Discworld for one month, is this your first time reading through the series or are you a recidivist?
Ah, the Cadfael mysteries, never checked them out. Great shout. I’m definitely a Discworld repeat offender. I’d read most of them (many of them multiple times) but never finished them. Actually a conscious choice. When Pratchett died I hated the idea of finishing them and never getting another. I still kinda do, but this year I decided to bite the bullet, reread them all in chronological order and document it. That’s why I started the channel in the first place. Thanks a million for watching and commenting.
