Mourinho is one of those where you could listen for hours without getting bored. Many of the others you could listen 30 minutes to 1 hour maximum but Jose? He's special!

So true. As brilliant as pep is he is SOOO boring in interviews. Jose is like that uni teacher that not only has great knowledge but communicate it so fascinatingly. I've often joked that if his football was to the level of his charisma he would be the most attacking high pressing manager ever 😂

Best moment for me was when he said watching R9 train was a joy because it was like he came to play with his mates. One thing that seems to be getting lost in elite football. Players for playing enjoyment.

Ronaldo epitomises the traditional Brazilian way of football. Effortless world class ability but not interested in structured professional training sessions. They all seem to be happy enough if they just train as if they were playing football in the park with friends. I know a lot of Brazilians and they just want the ball at their feet and to dance with it, they don’t want instruction, they don’t want limits, just wind me up and let me play. Probably Ronaldinho was the biggest example of that.

Even though R9 was top scorer in Japan and was good, he was nothing like the guy in Barca and his first year at Inter. That Ronaldo was a force of nature nobody could stop him. Alessandro Nesta in his interview said that Uefa Cup final against Inter with Ronaldo in 98 against his Lazio, was his worst nightmare.

The most gifted for dribbling. His creativity and cheekiness with dribbling was special. All that talent plus great physical attributes. He was unstoppable. If u look in overall, it's Messi. Dribbling, vision, creativity, passing, technique, finishing... No one had so much talent for different aspects of the game as Messi.

@@janschmidt1952 He was more athletic, that's for sure. But for me talent is something that comes from brain. There are very athletic people who don't know what to do with their attributes. R9 knew but his passing, vision and game reading were not on Messi's level. He was more physically gifted and definitely had more talent for dribbling.

@@01faisall That's laughable, he was never a midfielder. They just played with two attackers. Even if he was a midfielder, his vision and passing were never comparable to Messi's. Also, Raul was never a classic number 9, he was second striker, something like Rooney. Between 9 and 10.

This particular section might be the best interview I've seen from Jose. Usually you get that trademark arrogance, rightfully so, mind; but watching him speak about Sir Bobby, or periods early in his career you see his body language and verbiage switch to a much more relatable place. One of awe, and perhaps even innocence. Psychologically fascinating, but above all; pure. Well done to all involved in making this interview happen. An absolute joy.

@@walshknwsbest Actually when he arrived in England he announced himself as 'A Special One' not 'THE' Special One! The media pushed the line of Jose's 'arrogance' in calling himself 'the special one' in order to make him a villain. There is a big difference in meaning with that single word change.

I just said above mate, imagine Jose in charge of England with a midfield of Rice, Mainoo and Bellingham scary thought especially me as welsh bloke. Hell of a midfield that Southgate probably won't even pick let alone get best out of. Would love to see Jose take over England job, he's box office and super engaging. I have always said this about Jose , he is not a coach nor a tactitian nor a manager he is a mentor an example and for a lot of his players a friend or even a father. Never in my life have i ever seen this much love from players towards a coach especially one as "controversial" as Jose to the media , when players let us look behind the scenes they exposed what Jose is really like and everyone saw what type of human Jose was.

Jose is one of the most engaging personalities of all time in sport overall not just football. Find myself just watching and listening with a smile on my face. Maintains your attention for every word he speaks. I think if he becomes England manager it pains me to say as a welshmen that England would win things esepcially with a potential midfield of Rice, Mainoo and Bellingham for the next 10 years. Dont think it will happen with current manager thankfully though. Same thing as United though I do wonder if hed taken over for 2-3 yrs after Fergie would we still have seen the decline post Fergie as by time Jose got there the damage was done and the mentality within the playing squad had shifted substantially.

Great guy Ferdinand, I pass three years working in the UK. In my first day in my first job in a cafee bar, in that moment I can't speak english so my first task was to clean the floor area, at the first moment of starting suddenly a clien approached me to ask me something about the food, was Mr. Ferdinand. It was embarrassing for me not to be able to understand anything or respond, and I was also in shock. I am sorry about that Mr. Ferdinand if you ever read this. 😅

I did a little bit of research and would add a bit more to the last story of the 1996 Spanish Super Cup...Pizzi eventually came on in the 73rd minute and scored within a minute. Also, 3 players who went on to manage their clubs and won countless trophies for them all played in that match: Guardiola, Enrique and Simeone.
