Thank you for what feels like an unbiased review! So sick of every RU-vidr just giving this bagpack 5 stars because they had it sent to them for "free"

This is great! You show every pocket and detail, I love it. Not sure why but I love good backpacks and I saw the Mous with how it looked and I wanted to look into it properly to see if it was worth it. This video was perfect for that! Thank you

Appreciate the review, it definitely needs re-work on future models to make the bag more intuative. I find many bags have pockets that are just put there to fill space instead of being designed practically.

Well, thank you. I was going to look at buying the Mous, and my primary question was about Lid/no Lid. You answered that (the lid seems to be superfluous for my usage and adds non-essential weight when airlines are getting more concerned about applying carry-on limits) but also provided pause for thought about what my best option could be. It's a lot of coin for a backpack that has a few pretty key issues. Might need to look at a few of your other videos to look at similar but potentially more practical solutions.

Is it easy using side pockets (the one with keys and the one on the back) without taking off backpack? I have pockets on sides with a bit different layout which I like and use all the time, number 1 feature for me to look for since it's quite rare as I noticed. Thanks a lot for detailed reviews with so many nuances, deep diving for 3 weeks already with your content.

Worth noting the back/straps/sides (basically the non shiny portions of this backpack) are all dust/hair magnets. Gonna have to pack a lint roller with you.

What is the best back pack for commute (with fex: tablet, laptop, VR headset, handheld steam deck/rog ally, wireless headset, powerbank etc)?
@jkirk1626

I bought this then sent it back. The main magnetic clasp mechanism was great. The massive flap cover was cumbersome and added unnecessary time and effort in my use. The strap dangle management was poor. I use the sleeker Minaal Daily. I've used Mous cases for my phones for years and they've never failed me. Mous makes a solid product. Different strokes for different folks.

its supposed to be cumbersome, its a commuter bag. its to stop thieves. you keep your zips up top under the flap cover and they basically cant take anything of note without you being very aware.
@mohammedfaiisal
@mohammedfaiisal 7 месяцев назад
They have a non flap or non lid version in two different sizes. I think that would work better for you. I think the zips get stiff and hard to pull when it gets to the corners, because if the design and shape of the bag. If the bag was smaller and expandable to it's current size, it won't get the same protection level of course, but it would feel better on the back and surely much more light weight as well. They also should have added a small pocket on the shoulder straps, to add something like coins, cards or even your earbuds for quick access

The 25L is the only backpack that has the airo foam inside the backpack. It's also the only one with a lot of compartments. The 18L although is smaller and more comfortable and lightweight. It's missing a lot of compartments and doesn't offer the same protection as the 25L. The 25L with lid anyway. I recently bought the 18L with lid and I was so disappointed to find so many missing pockets and no airo foam at the bottom, like on this backpack. Huge deal breaker. It does not justify the £219.99 price tag. The 25L is priced same as its competition like peak design for example. But the 18L should not be £219.99. It should be £150 maximum. But £120 would be the fair price. It's shocking just how much is missing. Some people will like it and say we don't need that many pockets anyway. You say that now, but when you get it, you'd be disappointed. No umbrella pocket inside, no zipped pockets on the flap, no waist strap and not even that magnetic key fob that comes with the backpack on the side zip. There's nothing mous can say that will justify the price
@Loxris
@Loxris 4 месяца назад
thank you for this! I also liked the look of the 18L a lot, but knowing it doesn't have the same protection and compartment definitely changes my decision- that or might look at a different bag altogether.

The website says the 18L also has the AiroFoam.
@mohammedfaiisal
@mohammedfaiisal 3 месяца назад
@@youtubinganonymous2 it doesn't. I have the 18L with lid and there was no aerofoam inside. They mislead and lied. I managed to get most of my money back but kept the backpack but I don't plan to keep it long term. I want to buy the fyro t22 backpack when it becomes available

@@mohammedfaiisal So just to be clear - the description on the website is incorrect?
@mohammedfaiisal
@mohammedfaiisal 3 месяца назад
@@youtubinganonymous2 yes. I even had an argument with their customer service about this. It's so misleading. The only one worth getting is the 25L and that's too big and heavy. But that's the way better backpack because of the extra compartments too. 18L doesn't even have the key fob that comes with it. Very disappointed when it arrived but I am now waiting for the fyro backpack, which won't be ready and shipped until the end of the year. So this will unfortunately have to do until then

Any concerns with this being a personal item option for flights? Seems to only be a half inch or so bigger in one dimension from typical personal item dimensions.

Most carry one are about 2kg, this is 1.8kg. Still pretty heavy, but you should check out the 850 grams version that comes without the lid at the top. 18L as well. That one is surely more comfortable and easier to carry and access your stuff
@chrischoy9
@chrischoy9 6 месяцев назад
@@mohammedfaiisal I don't know if its just me, but the way this bag's weight and laptop container being centred towards the wearer's back to me makes it feel like it isn't even there despite the 1.8kg dry weight or close to 3kg with the laptop. I have had some burner sports running bags in the past where the weight of the laptop would sag towards the outside making it tiresome and heavy to lug around. It will become an issue if the airline decides to wight your bags for carry on.
@mohammedfaiisal
@mohammedfaiisal 6 месяцев назад
@@chrischoy9 the bag is definitely heavy. But wouldn't be a problem for someone who has a strong back. I know its designed to even have the slim and short people carry it with ease, but you feel the backpack very fast. Especially when you add more than just your laptop. If you just wanted a backpack for just your laptop, then this isn't it. You'd rather use the mous sleeve. The frame of the bag staying big, even when it's empty, is a slightly deal breaker for me. I would have loved the backpack if it was slightly smaller, slightly lighter and expandable instead of a fixed size. Small when empty, big when full. I don't like the 18L option. It's smaller and more comfortable for sure, but the backpack is not the same. It doesn't have the airofoam technology, so you're not getting anywhere near the same level of protection. It doesn't have anywhere near the same compartments as the larger 25L backpack. Had they made both backpacks identical from inside out, but just with a smaller body and slightly smaller compartments, it would have been almost perfect. 25L has a laptop pocket and a tablet pocket, the 18L just has a laptop pocket. It doesn't justify the £220 price tag and should be half the price. All backpacks don't even have quick access pickets. They should have had a pocket on the front middle of the backpack. A zip down with a couple of pockets inside. So much room for creativity, but none made. For 250 price, they should offer more on the outside. Aer is a good backpack for comfort and everyday use as well. Organised inside and out. So is tomtoc. Bellroy is decent but not all that overall in terms of comfort. My ideal backpack size is between 40-45cm in height, 25-30cm in width and 12-15cm in depth. Maybe expandable to 18cm when full and 10cm when empty. Backpack weight ideally I'd like it to be a kilo maximum but the lighter the better. Nomads nation is making his own backpack and it probably won't be available to buy until September and it will be priced similarly to this. Maybe even more. Like £279
