I would suggest running 2 pieces of flat metal overlapping each other at the top edge to make a lip that the sheet metal slips under and then you will only need to bolt it at the bottom so bolts will not interfere with the air tank
I had to laugh when Cory had his Dewalt grinder torn apart because mine also bit the dust this week. Unfortunately one of the brushes was toast and I had to go buy a new grinder. You should have put another bend at the top of the fuel cell door and put the nutserts into the sheet metal so that you can get the bolts out with the air tank in position

Too bad those can lids aren't big enough to unscrew and use the holes as cup holders, with a bottom welded in from underneath. I thought the pipe outside would work also, if a bottom was welded, then you could fit any size drink in it. I know, space is limited. I remember those drink holders that use to cost a buck and clip on the window track. There are vehicles also that had foldable push button style cup holders from the factory, not sure if they were any good.
Using a 'dial' to raise/lower the car... Why not a small pressure regulator from a small air tank? It increases/decreases air line pressure as you turn it; I don't see why it wouldn't work.. ;) And use the park brake for the shifter!
You may not know this but the make shift cage you put over the cans over the drive shaft housing the lock should be on the passenger side and the hinges should be on tbe drive side if it was a real service vehicle. I saw you install them last week. FYI Just saying. It's you wagon.
Our Dollar Store has plastic cardboard. It looks just like cardboard but is made of plastic. It is rigid just like regular cardboard so you can masking tape it together and it won’t be flimsy like construction paper. I don’t remember what the cost is. I have ordered it from Amazon also. So if you have Amazon it can be delivered directly to you.

Guys hope you will have a rubber packing on the tank cover as it is the end of the floor and air from the engine will come running in the cabin along the exhaust fumes . In this case no more of you nice guys on my screen 😢
