I invited my two mentors, treating them with one of the world's best wines and the world's cheapest wine. All as a blind tasting! Will they identify them or not?
I have just begun to watch these videos, and I love them! I must say that I have learned a LOT from listening to Peter and Patrick. Thank you for the humor and the interesting videos.
I agree about needing English subtitles during the Korean parts. I'm more than willing to sit through any Korean subtitles during the English parts too. That way it's a win/win for both languages.
The channel has come a long way in less than a year. I have recently stumbled upon it and have seen some very good tastings within the last month. Mr Lee has played a little joke on his guests and while his point is taken, it upsets his experts. I remember trying a similar wine when I first started drinking wine 30 years ago when I knew nothing about the subject and even then, I poured the whole bottle down the sink. I was left with nothing to drink for that evening which while disappointing, was the better alternative. Cheers to Jae Hyoung Lee, all the best with youtube.
Jay...love the channel. Good to see an unpretentious approach to tastings. Having said that, this particular episode drives home the fact that people need to drink what they like and not what they're told to like. When you asked which wine they liked the best, the first wine was the choice, until they saw the Rotschild bottle. After that, it was, "we need to drink this"! As a wine lover and a Scotch drinker, I used to fall into this trap. I'd buy based on exclusivity and age. All this does is give you bragging points in front of guests. I stopped that about ten years ago and now drink what I think tastes best, not what has aged the longest or has come from the best Maison. Love your channel.....keep up the great work. Looking forward to more new content in 2021!
This video is genuinely a joy to watch. I love these salt-of-the-earth gentlemen and their sailor mouths. They give an unpretentious and informative description of the wine, and they entertain us all the while.
Hi Jay. I really enjoy your videos. You guys are so knowledgeable and funny. My fiance showed me this and now I'm subscribed. Thank you - from an Aussie fan :)
Definitely the lighter side of wine tasting. Enjoyable to watch. But still very educational; be it great wine, good wine, or ‘special’ wine. One of the best ways to learn! I also hope that we do get English subtitles soon. Unfortunately, I’m not a polyglot like you.
That is the interesting thing about this video. The man on the left said it very well. It's almost a phenomenon that one can make wines as bad as the last one. It's so rare it makes no sense not to make it better. I could imagine a hundred ways in my head on how to make that particular product better.
I have started to think about this a lot myself. I've started making fruit wines. I've made thorough research on how to do it correctly, and my two very first wines, although not finished, already shows a lot of potential... and I think to myself - if I, a complete noob with just some basic research can achieve this decent quality, then how on earth can all these winemakers fail so hard? It's not that I think highly of myself and my wines, it's just that I think even lower than before of these horrible wines.
I got a theory. We should divide them into two groups. Those who produce sickly sweet, bad red wines and those who produce tasteless, off putting, bland wines. One groups genuinly don't know how to produce wines and the other one just don't like drink wine(they like drink fruit juiceXD).
@@steffeeH its not that easy to make wine. People easily get overconfident, I can assure you of that. As someone who as a home winemaker makes over 1000-1500 bottles a year of wine good wines hard to make, okay wine is abundant. I also happen to work with really obscure and hard to work with varietals because I find a good challenge to be fun!
@@pilsplease7561 never made pure fruit wines but if fruit mead is anything to go off, which it should be, it is quite easy to make a wine better than most of the commercial stuff people are drinking. It isnt that it is difficult to make a decent wine, these kind of wine makers just dont care to
@@SoftBreadSoftware Mead is not like wine, mead is a totally different process using different ingredients with basically half the steps and processes. Way easier to make than Wine.
