For second, on 0 - 3=6 if it is not submitted by others already, use 8-3=5 by moving one stick from 6 (making it to read 5) and add it to 0 to make it to read 8.

For the 1st puzzle, if you take the middle horizonal stick in the 9 and move it to the open vertical space in the 9, you end up with 1 - 1 = 0. If you insist on moving 2 sticks, an alternative solution could be, 1 + 1 = 2

At 1:48, a second solution is to remove the bottom left stick of the 6 (making it a 5), flipping it horizontal and placing it in the middle of the 0 (making it an 8). This gives you 8-3=5. On the last one, just move the top right stick of the 3 over to the left to make it a 5, so you have 5+2=7.

On the first one. It can become 7-1=6. Move the upper left vertical of the 9 to the top of the first 1 horizontally, then move the upper right vertical of the 9 to the lower left vertical, creating a 6.

At 0:30 I have a very interesting solution. Remove the bottom of the nine and place is vertically to the bottom left of the nine. This creates 1^9 which is equal to one. Move the subtraction sign diagonally to become a division symbol. This creates 1/1 which is equal to one.

Many are just changing 5 to 3; 3 to 5. And 9 to 0; 0 to 9. Equation #6 solved by changing 3 to 5 -> 5 + 2 = 7. Only clever one was 1 - 2 = ‐1. I liked that.

Perfectionist minds will struggle to see that as solution, because while 1 - 2 = -1 is obviously a correct mathematical answer, it requires "making" a space between the = and 1, which is not present on the original equation, thus is "two" moves not "one". This is not "thinking outside the box" solution but "bend the rules to fit one" kinda answer. Not my kind, just my 2 cents.

For the first one you can do it in 1 move. Move the center stick of the 9 down to make it a 0 and you have 1-1=0.

I came up with this solution where you move the top of the 9 to the minus, turning the 9 into a y and the - into a +. Since y is a variable, and thus can be any number, this is *technically* correct.

For #3 My solution was 8 - 3 = 5 Remove bottom left match on the 6 turning it into a 5, move it to the middle of the 0 to change it to an 8. I watched this video a second time a day after the first viewing and I thought I would remember most of the puzzle solutions. Key words there being “I thought”. In the thumbnail equation ( 1-2 = 7 ), turn the entire screen (or paper if you’ve written it down) so that it’s now upside down- it will say L = 2-1. Remove the horizontal stick on the L, and you’re left with 1 = 2-1. I believe that this is also an acceptable answer. I did that before watching the video, not realizing that there were more questions/ equations in it- I thought that it would only contain the answer, though I did wonder why it needed to be 3 1/2 minutes long for one answer 😆

First of all, the instructions did not tell us to turn the entire equation upside down. "Move only one stick to make the equation correct." Thus saying you believe this to be an acceptable answer is not correct. If you do that you are also moving all of the matchsticks, because turning the screen upside down moves everything on it,; therefore what you are saying to do is a cheat. Logic is on my side of this.

puzzle #4: 1 - 2 = 7: Remove the top of the 7. Place to the right of 2 and higher, like a superscript. This way it looks like the first derivative of number 2. Number 2 is a constant, so its first derivative is 0. So you effectively get 1 - 0 = 1.

If you are going to do that, you need to shorten it first. So rapidly move the red part across the table first, let it burn half way down, then blow it out. This solution also works when you have to move two matchsticks. First turn the 9 into a 6 by moving the top-right matchstick, then turn the new 6 into a 0 by moving the central one.

For puzzle #4: 1 - 2 = 7 I propose: Remove the top of the 7, then (because these are matchsticks, presumably on a tabletop or the floor), change your viewing perspective to be a 180° rotated view, and then replace the matchstick on the other #1 so that it is a “1” with the leading upstroke, and then it reads: “| = 2 - 1”

For the first puzzle, if you take one stick from = and put it under the minus to get a new = and then take the middle horizontal stick from 9 and make a zero
