I'd go for the EFR-S107D/L (besides taking from the Royal Oak and the Nautilus, it takes inspiration from the Omega Constellation too (the position of the screws) ). I'm more comfortable with round bezels.

They don't (officially) sell the 108 in the US. I actually wound up buying the ECB10, which was the first of the stainless Casioaks, because there were simply no GA2100s to be had when I first wanted one. It is definitely bigger, so you might not like it too much. (I have gotten a GA2100 since, though.)

I love how you don't waste any time and give us a very thorough yet concise overview of the pros and cons of the watches you review. You spend an ample amount of time with the watches and you actually have all your thoughts organized and present them in an efficient, informative, and strangely satisfying way. I got this one months ago, I enjoy it a lot. The design and finishing is great for the price but don't expect too much. I noticed some minor flaws. But the fit of the watch is insane, it's so slim and I unironically got compliments for how it looks, it easily looks like 2000$+ on the wrist. It also has the perfect size, so if you can rock a quartz, go for it, it's really unique.

My only real problem with the Edifice line is the huge logo and text below 12. It makes the dial too busy, I find. Thanks for bringing this one to my attention! Great vid!

Agreed. That logo combination actually looks a little better on the busier chronograph dials (especially at 3 instead of 12) than on these clean dial layouts.

I'm always impressed that Ben manages to find interesting watches to review. Any idiot can do a video on an SKX and say "vAlUe fOr mOnEy" (as if that means anything.) But Ben always goes the extra mile and shows off something unique that others aren't talking about. This is a cool watch, I'd put it as "ice cold" on the wall.

The SKX was a value proposition becuse it was a well made ISO certifed diver for 200 bucks or less a few years ago. There were 100% problems with it and it wasnt the unicorn every acted it was (just look at the movement) but at the time you go get them for 200 dollars and under it was a good deal if you liked the looks and or wanted an ISO certified diver. Also while modding it can be expensive and there are better watch platforms to do that on (vostok comes to mind) but doing simple shit was not pricey like a bezel insert and crystal swap. The skx was over hyped but there was 100% a reason people reccomended it at the time. On top of that most channels who did review it werent focused on "value" watches anyway

It’s amazing how nicely this watch is finished. I love the dial and the texturing of it . The Colour matched date wheel, along with the 100m of water resistance is a really nice touch! I love that they have multiple different colour variations available too!

Though I have many more expensive watches, this is the one that has owned the vast majority of my wrist time over the past 6 months. Such a fantastic everyday watch, don’t have to worry about scratching the sapphire crystal. I’ve only set the watch once 6 months ago and the time is still perfect, not to mention how satisfying it is to see the second hand hit the markers every single tick. Love this watch!

If you'd asked me, if there's any music in the video, I'd just say "Nope". My point is that music in videos is so extremely irrelevant, that it confuses me when people actually notice it. And so many times I read in comments, "What's the song at some time-stamp?". WTF? How? Why? I'll never understand that.

A beautiful watch Ben. I also found EFR-S567DC-1AVCR in black. I have 5 Edifice watches and I have been very happy with them. Looks like this one might be another to add to that list. Given your wrist size, you can check out the GMA - S2100, which, unfortunately is marketed as a women’s watch. However, its case diameter of 38mm would fit you perfectly and I bet there are some folks working on cranking out a Royal Oak mod for it!

It is beautiful indeed, but there is another model, lacking the few cons of this particular piece. I am talking about EFB 108D. The differences are as follows: 1. Solid band 2. Screwed back 3. Slightly bigger size - 45mm case 4. My opinion - a bit better and cleaner design. Cheers and keep up with the great content!

This is a cleverly thought out homage design. At first when you said 51mm L2L, I thought it would look ridiculous on my tiny wrist. But as it worked on yours, I could definitive be rocking this. I'm one of those that think the Edifice logo is a bit much, but can live with it. Really love the structure of the dial, and 100m wr is really good.

I'll buy the black dial version you highlighted soon. I have a few inexpensive watches (even a Glycine combat chrono) and enjoy the hobby. To include amateur smithing and modding. But what want is the the watch I wear everyday. The anthracite dial turtle sp-something-23. Out of production, almost gone and up to 4-500 USD. And I'm old broke live aboard sailor. Credit to Casio for knowing the market. But they could put this on a solid bracelet and apply some killer lume at around 200 USD and have a winner. It's got the style, brand cache (buyers trust), sapphire, percieved dependability, etc. The Edifice line should be the cut above. Go the extra distance for us enthusiasts. Probably think they already are. But every Edifice model, nope. Set an Edifice standard, sapphire, lumezilla, solid bracelet, jeweled quartz movements on metal plates.... ...some models at 200-250 USD.... and stick it to the competition. The Chinese homages like San Martin or Chronos (and others) have solid offerings. But I haven't bought one yet. Won't be long now. If they don't price themselves out of running, which is happening now. Maybe Casio knows this. I wrote an effen novel, sorry.

Your reviews are brilliant and so is your attention to detail. There's one bugbear I have that you don't and that's the length of the minute hand for so many watches. I think they should be longer, up to the minute markers. The fact that they are not puts me off buying these brilliant value watches. I'll try and get some counselling or something. Maybe hypnotherapy would work. Yes, I have bought a digital for the first time in decades.

I don't know that it's underrated. I think it's just not sold widely enough to get a lot of attention. Additionally, if someone has $500 US to blow on a watch, they will likely not even know that Casio has a premium watch for them to consider---if they're willing to buy in the Japanese market and have it shipped in.

Great review Ben once again. As I'm not err... "currently" in the market for an AP Royal Oak so seeing your different options is of great interest to me. The Casioak looks great but is slightly larger than my shed but given the recent weather in the UK it is way more resilient to water than that of said shed. Now, that Edifice is definitely a worthwhile look, as with Casio watches that I have the second hand aligns well with the minute markers and the gold tone second hand contrasts well with the dial. I'm not usually a fan of a date at 3 but as this resides inside the hour marker I 'm OK with it. I might just have a look at this one post lock down..... or I just buy one.

Those metal bezel kits for the GA-2100 can look great, but the heavy metal bracelet still attaches to the resin lugs creating a weak point. Edifice has the better octagonal steel watches for those in need. This EFR-S108D, the solar powerd EFS-S570d with chronograph, and the top of the line EQB-1100, which has solar and bluetooth. Look for the "YD" models and not the "D" models to get one with a milled clasp and solid links. Different countries get different models, and there's an appropriate price difference.

Superb watch, I paid £100 for mines, normally I would go 80 tops for these specs, But even now it risen to almost 150 euros and can only be bought from Italy. I can live with the integrated Bracelet for this price , only gripe is the clasp noise when you tap it, but thats more of an OCD thing. Overall I am glad i have it as it probably will be discontinued and prices will creep to the 200 euro range.

Ben I have a suggestion for a video. Why not give yourself a budget of say £150 sterling and throll through all the second hand Web sites and buy the best watch you can get for the £150 including p+p. BUT the one rule you must abide by the watch must have been readily available at some time from a hight street shop so no online only sales it must have been or available from a bricks and mortar shop. And to make things harder the watch must be complete with its box and and any accessories it was sold with. No rule on age.

i do like this 108 but 38mm too small... they need make two sizes 38 and at least a 42mm !!! thats the only thing that puts me off this ..great review as always Ben.

If there's one thing the influencer brands have taught us it's that quality is irrelevant. Design is nice to have but it just needs to be good enough. Marketing is where it's at. And G-Shock has marketing. Therefore G-Shock will remain dominant as it's its own brand and in fact one of the only brands a normie will know offhand

Yeah I saw that one! But the real CasiOak does away with the Quartz second hand. That makes the Edifice one an instant bummer. But we all see what they did there! Otherwise gorgeous piece.

Actually I do believe there is an Edifoak without ticking second hand. But it isn't very pretty or affordable. - ah, the solar chronograph: EFS-S570DC-1AUEF €249 (also in blue EFS-S570DB-2AUEF €219)

Funny i find this Video now after I just bought the Edifice EFS-S570 which has the same body but is solar powered and has a watchface that is more similar to the Royal Oak Offshore. I saw this watch at my local jewelry store, after I brought my older watch in for a repair. For me the Royal Oak is the dream watch, but pretty much unreachable in the forseable future. So this watch is a good compromise.

This S108D is better than the S107 with the green accents. It wears so much better. The lugs turn downward while the lugs on the S107 basically stick straight out. And that’s why I returned it and bought the S108D instead. I have a 6.5 inch wrist, for reference.

I just imported a Gma s140 now you tell me this. I wanted the casioak but eventually got put off from the rubber and old buttons that catch dust and can't be operated underwater. But this edifice takes the cake bro

I really appreciate these watch reviews. It is like a DJ finding deep cuts and hidden gems. I would have never found this watch without your channel. Short of the bracelet being hollow and not solid, I'm not sure what specification or design element isn't strong (now I do really prefer quartz, so that may be an issue for some). Even with the need to import this model from Europe, it's still the cheapest watch I bought that wasn't my Timex Easy Reader. The value for the money is hard to beat.

That S108 is a good looking watch. And the saphire glas is stunning in this price segment. The S107 is a bit disappointing in regard to these screws on the brim of the watch although on Amazon the version with a leather strap is availabe for 65 € plus shipping. But this watch is not a substitute for the G Shock casiok because these watches are made for different areas of application. So if you like this style and have enough money it would be nice to own both of them.
