My brother did this musical in high school and apparently the guy who played Lurch actually had a pretty high voice and they had no clue he was able to sing as low as he did
I'm playing Lurch and I am proud to say that I can hit all of the notes with ease. As a 6'5 man with a register too deep for comfort in almost any other show, this is truly a dream come true
I was Lurch for my schools performance, and today was our final performance. He’s such a great character and this song was a blast to sing. I don’t think there could have been a better end to my senior year.

I did the Addams family musical with my drama group in England and everyone loved it. The cast and I all thought we were chosen for our roles because we were the closest thing to Addams family
I started as a backstage crew for my school and took the position of lurch mid way through. Best experience ever for real. If your ever scared to sing this song… do not be. For real I feel it changes my life
This makes me miss getting to perform this so much :'(. Being Gomez Addams was such an awesome experience. I remember a bunch of people crying but still staying collected as we sang this for the last time on closing night.

it's missing the Gomez part at the beginning because this is the non Broadway version. They actually use the Gomez part in another non Broadway song called "Happy Sad"

I performed this in July/August 2018 and my voice was like an octave too high so it didn’t fit (I played Lurch) but nevertheless it’s a perfect song as Lurch’s first words
i hope nobody from my school finds this comment but i am really excited for this song in the musical… i get to sing the really high notes and i love singing high notes a little too much lol
It's too bad, our Lurch just kinda... misses the mark on this song. Great guy, but he doesn't carry the operatic sound you need for lurch. I know he's just a sophmore, but still...
@@Iliketreeees I know this sounded harsh on the guy in my production. He's a great guy, and in high school singing and doing theater is awesome. I guess I just have this standard in my head of what I think it could sound like. I hope he gets in!!
I cant wait to perform as this character this march/April with my community theatre. I'm a basso profundo as well and can (on a good day) it that high but it's either falsetto or belting😂
