I clicked too quick when I saw the movie you were gonna review 😂 MA was something else “sorry tyrell there can only be one of us” then painted the boy’s face white
Ma has become a cult classic. I initially didn’t care for it because the trailer marketed different than it was but it’s definitely a psychological thriller and deeper than you think.
This movie really had my jaw dropped! I was in and out when I watched it - as background noise while I retwisted my locs. Right, the movie felt more suspense/thriller than horror because I don’t really do horror! Shows the depths that can possibly happen with people who have been bullied. Also, shows a precautionary lesson of being the only Black person in predominantly white spaces. And yes, it did feel like the role initially was written for a white woman - some of the dialogue from her was evident of that.
What pissed me off they kept going back to her house after she kept showing signs of a maniac! 😂 It was unrealistic. Kid's would have been cut her off or told their parents
True but there were times they did tried to ignore & avoid her (one of them even posted a video for the whole school to see to inform them all to block her) but she was contacting them constantly, coming up to their school & even lied about being sick with cancer or something like that to make them feel bad for her. I’m guessing she was trying to correct & relive her younger years.
MA was my 💩 Octavia Spencer was phenomenal in this movie. I never pictured her playing a psycho in any movies 😂. The closest psychotic thing I thought we”ll see outta Octavia is when she was on “The Help” & she had that stuck up racist white lady eat that pie & she was like “EAT MY SHIT” 😂
Sad part, no matter how old you get some people still want to be accepted by the people they claimed to no longer care about. What about “the autopsy of Jane Doe” please babe that one is a doozie.
The way Ma did her daughter reminded me of that hulu series the act. The mom did tje same thing to her daughter, but she lied to the public for charity. Please tell me yall seen it!! If not check it out.
I think she used their children to take away their innocence and cause harm upon them like their parents did to her at the same age. It’s symbolic of her pain and trauma. I wish she would have gotten some help after that incident happened.
I liked this movie but even though Sue-Ann was crazy, I couldn't help but feel so badly for her. I couldn't imagine going through the assault and humiliation that she did. I honestly think in her own warped way that the reason she made her daughter "sick" was a way to alienate her so that maybe she could protect her from other kids so that she wont suffer from them like she did.
the monique movie was originally supposed to star octavia but she backed out, which is why lee made up wit monique n casted her instead, that man know he sat and watched MA and said lemme do a black version
Hey Ashley . Happy Thanksgiving. I love this movie. But I always fall asleep towards the very end. Can't wait to gt o the end to hear the ending. I love youuuuu and th Ashley family. LOL. Ashley we need a cute name for us in your squad.
Ashley must be living in a cave. There are plenty of people even now that stand outside of stores asking stranger for alcohol. It's not just something you turn to relatives for. And Facebook remains one of the highest using social media sites even now nineteen years later. Why does everyone think it ever lost its steam to be all "Who is using Facebook anymore" like Ashley does here? It didn't and managed to do what MySpace failed to which came and died very quickly in under a decade of its existence. What makes her statement even more silly is that she's reviewing a movie filmed in 2018 which was SIX YEARS AGO so even if Facebook lost its steam NOW and she herself doesn't use it anymore, that's irrelevant to the site's popularity several years back. If she was saying the site wasn't popular THEN, that's ridiculous as that clearly isn't true and MA wouldn't have bothered using it. The makers would have done what this other movie that was made and released around the same time adapted from a book released in the early 2010s. I can't remember the name of it, but it changed the book's usage of Facebook to Instagram I guess to showcase a newer social site being used as if Facebook was outdated or losing steam. Older yes but outdated and losing steam in the mid-2010s is just laughable. The movie still could have featured it as Facebook was nowhere near dying off even then. So yeah, you guys need to stop dragging Facebook like it's just down in the dumps because it's still reigning supreme here. DIG IT!
