The Green Goblin jump scare in Sam Raimi's Spiderman 1, where he was pretending to be an old crying lady in the burning building is one of my top picks for a jump scare. Along with the Leo Decaprio's character's wife looking straight to the camera when they're going down the elevator in Inception is also a top tier jump scare imo.

Roger Rabbit was the 1st movie I've ever walked out of. By which I mean, my mother carried my 3 year old butt out of the theater screaming BECAUSE of this jump scare. Silly of her to assume a movie with Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse on the same screen was not gonna exactly be kid friendly lol.

I’m with Tommy on Multiverse of Madness but the scene that got me was when they were in the underwater tubes racing toward the mcguffin and she kept breaking thru the doors. That last one u knew the jump was coming but there was an extra second or so in there then she jumped up and scared the crap out of me. I remember seeing it in the theater and it got me even though I knew it was coming. Same with miss minutes in Loki season one finale.

You missed Harry and the Hendersons when after the family hit Harry with the car, think they killed him, strap him to the roof of the car, and while they are driving Harry wakes up and puts his face onto the front Windshield. I’ve been told that the first time I watched this movie I ran out of the room at that part haha.

Great list! The twist in Roger Rabbit was so unexpected and scary!! And in the Wizard of Ox it was less the monkeys flying and more when they landed and you saw how big they were!! No surprise they were able to lift Dorothy and fly away with her. Loved the crew and the process! Can't wait to see more of these videos!!

Fun fact: the director thought fake snow didn't look right in the Wizard of Oz, so they showered the cast with asbestos instead. There's many horrifying things in the Wizard of Oz... on and off screen.

The first time i ever liked a jumpscare was in the movie theater as a junior higher when the raptor from Jurassic Park was waiting in the power breaker room. I screamed out loud...and returned to see it two more times in the theater! And this is coming from the girl who was traumatized by Gremlins (they string up the poor dog!) Hated Roger Rabbit because of that ending!

The most creepy jumpscare to me is The Winkster from Barney: Live in New York. I can’t be the only one who was creeped out by him and had nightmares. The way he presents himself and the background music that goes with. Mainly the caked up makeup and outfit freaks me out. But what makes him totally scary is that he can be anywhere at anytime and to him its all fun and jokes 😢😢and doesn’t do it to be mean

Ceiling Raptor in Jurassic Park. Arguably a horror movie, but I'd classify it as Action/Adventure.

Yes, I remember that Supes 3. I also have the comic version, just gave me the shivers looking at the comic, w/c brought me back to the movie 😱 One of the most memorable body horror in a non-horror movie... Robocop, when the guy got radioactive sludge poured on him. "Help me, help me" in a grating raspy voice before getting run over by a van / Robocop/Robocop's parter. Still haunting me to this day 😳

I dont think of Sleepwalkers as a horror movie. Its one of the few Stephen King movies ive repeatedly watched. When the guy in the movie turns into the creature the first time i ALWAYS jump. Another Stephen King story i enjoy is Stand By Me and I never like when they show the body

Superman 3 scene gave me such nightmares, especially because my big brother often teased me that I was a robot my parents built, not a real kid. Bilbo definitely made the whole theater leap back screaming. Roger Rabbit made my sister cry in the theater and my mom had to take her out while my brother looked after me. Return to Oz was so terrifying, I'm not sure if I ever watched the movie all the way through.

I googled “Signs” to see if it’s considered a horror movie and it’s listed as Science Fiction and Suspense on Amazon. The scene where they’re watching the newscast of a home video of a birthday party and then an alien steps out from the bushes… omg I screamed. Also, the scene where Mel Gibson is using the butcher knife to look under that door… and we all knew it was coming but when those claws came out it still scared the bajeezus out of me.

A lot of scenes are scary in Return of the Oz, I think the wig sequence is one of the scariest. Also what about the Child Snatcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

I took my friend to watch Parasite in the cinema because I saw it was nominated for Best Oscar. I knew the director's movies were known for their plot twists, but didn't know what it was, while he knew basically nothing. I distinctly remember just before the movie starts, he turns to me and asks "This isn't a horror movie is it?" to which I said "Nah, it's not", I wasn't sure but I hadn't heard it referred to as a horror movie. Anyone who has seen the movie may know where this is going, but when the twist does happen, I was very worried that I had accidentally lied to him 😅

The first time I saw Raiders of the Lost Ark and the opening of the ark and what happen to all the Nazis. The Gustapo guys face melting was completelly traumatizing.

I tried to take this mostly as literal jump scares so...5). Alien slams into the glass in Independence Day. 4). Any early moment with 'the beast' in Sandlot. 3). Bullet hole Pietro and/or dead Vision in WandaVision. 2). Less of a jump scare but THE HEART SCENE FROM INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF THE DOOM, which is action/adventure but pure nightmare to most kids from the late 80's and beyond. 1). BOWLING ALLEY HAND SHREDDING IN KINGPIN, which is considered as a SPORTS COMEDY!?

The only thig I find funny is. I was watching Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory and paused it at the tunnel scene only to see what was new on RU-vid. Creepy.🤦🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️
