Donahue was a huge factor in my life, as the first time I saw anything relating to OCD was on his show, in conjunction with the book "The Boy Who Couldn't Stop Washing." I had been suffering from OCD and depression since my pre-teens, but knew nothing about others having the same problem circa 1989. Thanks to this show and the info he provided on it, I was able to get the right diagnosis and treatment, and eventually come out of this "interrupted" stage of my life. RIP and God Bless Phil Donahue and his great endeavors!
Back in the early 80s when I was having my babies, we were doing the co-sleeping thing with my nursing son. I sent the producers of Donahue the book The Family Bed and said they might use it as a show with pros and cons, experts on both sides of the issue. Many months later I was shocked when I tuned in and Phil had the book with a show about the controversy!!! Of course, I had no way to tape it-no VCR at that time. Craaaazy!!!
Bummer to see em getting divorced but I understand why it didn’t work. She feels the need to prove herself to everyone and put everything out there. Whereas Ben is one that likes to keep his head down, fly under the radar and just stay very private. Who knows how long it would’ve lasted had they gone through with it in 2003. But I just know he’s been through so much in the past 20 years that he just likes to be left alone. Some will think things were rough cuz of the video where he slammed the door shut but I’m of the mindset where they probably just wanted to get ☕️ and all of a sudden 30 photographers were around the corner. If that happened to me I’d be pissed too
there is also rumors that chick fil-a is gonna start their own streaming service, which I have no idea what that means exactly, maybe be like angel studios, the ones who release all those religious films?
They did tons of sequels to the crow and none of them came even close to something you can call good. 20 years later they make what looks like a generic remake and thought it was gonna work. Clearly The crow is a lightning in a bottle movie and can't be replicated.
Alain Delon was a friend/fan of Jean-Marie Le Pen. Not ideal. His relationship with Nico was also ugly (at least according to the 1995 documentary about her life). Still, Le Samouraï and L'Eclisse are Mount Rushmore films for me. Beautiful fruit from an ugly tree.
Hmm, I've noticed that all Americans pronounce Megalopolis weird... somehow like Mega-Lopolis but that seems really wrong to me. It comes from the ancient Greek word polis = city. So it should be Megalo - Polis, big city.
There's a time and place for everything. Leslye Headland's Heathers reboot was funny and well made. According to critics who actually care about Star Wars (not me) and are knowledgeable about its canon, she made a canon-blasphemous piece of junk, for 180 million! You don't hire Brian De Palma to make a kid friendly, family friendly Star Wars movie/show, you hire Steven Spielberg. De Palma turning Star Wars into his usual lurid, violent thing would offend people, and that's not bigotry or toxicity. Enjoy the group sex and lesbianism in Body Double, it's not Star Wars appropriate. Headland's POV fits the dark, nasty, R rated world of Heathers much better than Star Wars.
