Yet another of my favourite cinemas We holidayed in Wales all my early life and it's interesting to note that Rank pulled out of North Wales altogether selling all their property's to Hutchinson They also bought up the other independent cinemas such as the Rhyl Plaza and the Wedgewood and Princess Cinemas in Colwyn giving them a nearly 100% monopoly in the area with the notable exception of Prestatyn where the Scala ended up being run by the council and is now once again thriving
