Booker explains why it's a bad idea to stay with your family. You only have to cut your finger one time, when cooking, and you're scary, inhuman. Booker is also been depressed since the mid 1800s. Like, he watched his entire family die, and dreams every night of a drowning woman, for 200 years. No wonder he's depressed. The others (except Nile) have met Quynh so they don't dream about her, but if you dream about drowning every night... Bad sleep is a cause of depression as well. So, you know. He did a bad thing, obviously, but his motivation makes sense. He doesn't want to kill his family/friends, he doesn't hate them. He wants to die, but he doesn't want to hurt the others. So in that sense I can see that they will want to punish him, but can also forgive him in the long run. I would prefer a little more character moments and exploration, but that's why I read fanfic. :D And asking what would happen if... is not so much poking holes, but asking how it works. And the answer is, they don't know. There wasn't a person with one hand who got this power, but that can just be coincidence, or part of the rules, or anything really. Also, good news, there is a part two coming. afaik they've wrapped filming. :)

To answer some questions Booker and Copley had an agreement that did not involve holding them forever or torture. Both Booker and Andy wanted their immortality to end. Copley was a genuinely good (naive) guy who knew the exponential good they had done. They take violent missions (like saving human trafficking victims) because they are guaranteed to walk out while other teams would certainly die. They can grow back limbs, burn to death, explode etc.

This movie is from a comic book. If I remember correctly Andy is 7000 years old

to the guy in the blue @17:54, i get what you’re trying to say but i say what right do we as people have to demand that they donate themselves to research? they didn’t ask for their immortality and they don’t OWE us anything. that entitled ideology has always rubbed me the wrong way. yes, it would be nice if they decided to help but they shouldn’t be robbed of their personhood and right to choose if they deny the request. eh, just my 2 cents. edit: also, you miss cool scenes watching your friend

totally agree. And that's not even talking about the ethical side of what would be done with what they find from their DNA

Hahah - I was not expecting the "Only Lovers Left Alive" reference. Bummed you were silent on Joe & Nicky. But I'll take silence vs being rude about them. I do think Joe's sass is some of my favorite parts of the movie. Booker realized he really effed up and leaving them to be tortured was not an option. The others would come for him when they got free.

I think Booker fought with the gang at the end because he didn’t want Andy to be killed and he also had been shown mercy.
@8301TheJMan
@8301TheJMan 5 месяцев назад
Booker also didn't know that they were to be kept alive endlessly experimenting on his friends for years and years - he was betrayed and still loved his brothers and sisters in arms, he was simply desperate to find a way to finally die. So when he discovered the never-ending life of torture and experimentation that he delivered his friends into, combined with Andy discovering she was on her last life - were why he fought along side them to escape. It served as the first step towards making amends for betraying his family of immortals.

would you like to become a lab rat? Because that's what they would become if they are captured and everything would be kept secret because they don't want anybody to know there are immortal people out there. So that's why they are hunted and that's why they don't want to be taken prisoner.

The people fled the street when they heard gun fire. You missed Andy asking Nile if he spoke Russian, that was the fake out plan. You guys keep talking over important parts and then wondering what was up. Some of my fave reactors just pause it to talk, gives them time and they don't miss anything :)

I think people need to learn just lower their suspension of disbelieve for a bit once they have grown up :D I am a adult and I really enjoyed that movie, its just a great fun movie, even if it doesn't clear up all the logic behind it and it was kinda fun to just think about the possible reasons and working afterwards :D I liked how they handled Booker too, it seems weird to us, but it shows a discrepancy in thinking, same with the "punishment", like, they banish him in a way for 100 years, because they would never imprison one of them, as that is the worst thing they fear could happen to themselves and they certainly can't kill anyone, but taking away someones interpersonal relationships, for people that live that long, that is the hardest punishment they can give out in a way, taking away the only people for him to talk to that could understand him.

Andy's accent is very heavy, but she does actually say to the pilot "play dead" in Russian. And it's believable that someone who has some basic training in Russian says it like that. Like she understands what she is saying.

Short, choppy combat cuts usually result from the actors being unable to go through the long set of moves in a combat scene.
