I'm so glad someone finally gave Michael Caine the props he deserves for that reaction shot at 6:21! It's such a good example of the power of listening as an actor - which is even more impressive given who he's listening to! Also I think the scene where he sees his own name on the gravestone is legitimately one of the best screen performances I've seen. You 100% feel like he is staring his own wretchedness and mortality in the face, not a hint of fakery.
you need to understand how fundamentally important it is to me to see you sharing your insights again. You've got a beautiful soul and i'm always happy to see you pop up on my feed! massive love
I enjoyed hearing you ramble about "I'm Going to Go Back There Someday". It is not just one of my favorite Muppet songs, but one of my favorite songs period. The Muppet Movie and Superman (1978) are the first two movies I remember seeing as a little kid, and they both still rank pretty high as some of my all-time favorite films.
Abby Cox made a fantastic video about how insanely accurate the costumes are! They even made sure that less wealthy characters were wearing 1830's clothes, since not everyone can afford to keep up with the latest fashions.
Glad I'm not the only one who can get this emotional over the Muppets. Also been there with the whole "losing a best friend over something really stupid" thing. It sucks.
@@TheBackFocus I'm an amateur singer, I've been involved with some online singing communities. I did a recording of I'm Going to Go Back There Someday in my best Gonzo voice, and it's one of my proudest achievements. ☺
Well, that was an interesting...more of a reflection then a review. I think I'd watch another, though I miss the old supporting actors videos. Crazy the thought trains that the Muppets can trigger, gotta love em.
I could watch videos of your hilarious tangents for hours. Religious school truly changes the way you think huh? I know about that all too well. Muppet Movies were an integral part of my childhood growing up. Love them! Paul Williams also starred in Phantom of the Paradise, another fantastic movie with an incredible soundtrack in which most songs were written by Mr Williams himself I believe, not 100% sure though. I'm sure you're aware as an avid film buff!
I've still got my VHS copy of The Muppet Christmas Carol. My favourite part was when Sir Michael Caine asked if Mr. Hardesty and "Dave" were okay. Anyways hope you and your family had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Brandon.
My absolute favorite A Christmas Carol adaptation is the one with Patrick Stewart - not the one man show although I'd love to see that too. It always makes me weep! Patrick Stewart does such an amazing job with it and the transformation at the end is really something special.
I love this entire video ❤ i just found you again after years of trying to remember the channel name and im glad to see your still going strong. Keep up the wonderful work ❤
Holy crap, with that trailing surreal slap in the face. Refreshing, though, given that it didn't wind up in the dark hole where it was heading. On the way, I felt like Quint sliding down at the end of Jaws.
I'd like to continue, I just don't have the time that I used to have before having kids. I had one episode, fully edited from a few years back. I was ready to upload it a few months ago, but I realized that all the music I used was from a website that I don't have a membership to anymore. It's a project I just haven't gotten around to doing. There's another one that's fully written, narrated, and partially edited. That still needs a lot of work.
I should probably give it a watch. I've watched _the crap_ outta the 1984 Christmas Carol starring George C. Scott (would recommend), so I could stand to check out a different adaptation sometime. Loving the tangents too. Let Mr. Milton know I'm available to get shirtless and poked by a stick whenever.
I love this movie! I've actually seen loads of other versions of A Christmas Carol but this one is definitely one of my favourite adaptations. I would say this is my favourite Muppet movie actually.
Bruh the whole religious stuff you went through, from upbringing to the absurdity of losing friends and family these days to extremist opinions on things like gay people, is SUPER relatable! I have so those same experiences. It boggles the mind.
You absolutely need to do a review of Big Momma's House 2 considering it's your #1 on Letterboxd - also feel free to go anywhere you like tangentally :)
Whatever that thing on your ceiling is made me think I cracked my phone. EDIT: Finished the video. Now I'm convinced the rollercoaster that is this video cracked my phone. Thank you.
You said you've never seen any other adaptations other than The Muppet Christmas Carol and mentioned you would've killed to see Patrick Stuart's one man version on Broadway, surely you've seen him as Scrooge in A Christmas Carol (1999)?
14:14 You're talking about Bug Hall aren't you? I'm sorry to hear about the falling out and the sort of person he became. But anyway, I would have to agree with what you said about religion.
