Instagram- AdamTheWooATW I’ve always loved covering Hwy 192 stuff. It’s basically some of the first videos I ever started filming back in 2010. I’ll probly throw a lot more in over time. Such a weird and interesting stretch of road
This video is hilarious, the internal debate of going in, going back to the car, going back in, back to the car, to finally going in and paying the hobos $20... lol this is classic ATW, doesn't get much better than this.
The "boom" and "bust" of 192 over the past 30 years or so fascinates me. I wonder what it will all be like 10 years from now. I spent a lot of time around there from about 2004-2014 and it's changed so much even in that short of time.
Interesting seeing Highway 192 going through the change process. Rolled through there on my way to Disney 20 years or so ago and it was bustling and vibrant. Hopefully it can get back to that. Good luck with your move Adam. Hope it all is smooth.
Thank you . After new years once everything is moved and turn in keys to apartment it’ll be a good time . Kinda stressful getting everything done but almost there
Adam think you made a prudent decision to stay in Central Florida for all the reasons you mentioned. Didn't realize you were actually in the heart of Celebration and all the crowds that come there in the Christmas Season. As far as the haters out there Its nice to hear you keep there little hatefull voices in perspective. Keep putting one foot in front of the other brother. Hope the new places gives you a nice homebase for your upcoming adventures.
Adam do not let negative people get to you. I watch a lot of different channels, and those type of negative people are on every one of the channels I watch and some are even on true crime channels.. I am glad you choice to stay in Florida. I can't wait to see what the new move and the new year brings you I love watching you and the things you share with us. MERRY CHRISTMAS.
Anyone who doesn’t agree is a “hater” right? Nothing about when the weather that is seminal to Florida is in full swing it’s non stop bitching not to mention video after video after video reiterating the same Disney park visits , dismal , sad, repetitive, depressing are the words that come to mind, it’s a bye for me
@vonitadustylgreen2914 “haters “ on true crime videos, well it’s an oxymoron isn’t it, true crime is repulsive fantasy and fascination with human suffering, isn’t it a given that it’s sick to be into this sort of stuff? Or…
Thanks for the video Adam. My wife and I made our first trip to Orlando in 1997 on our honeymoon and we rode Movie Rider the night before our first ever Disney vacation. Thanks for the memories and Merry Christmas.
I really like these thrift store videos Adam. My late mom and I were always shopping at them. And your old hang outs, we all hv memories of places tht hv bn torn down, it’s bittersweet 😢🌹
Adam after all the things you went through when filming abandoned places I was surprised to see you go in that place and not knowing who the people were that were in there also would have been a reason not to go in there but I will say since you did go in there it was nice to see you give the people there some money to help them out, now I hope if it is getting torn down you can film it,now with that peace ☮️ love ❤️ and Merry Christmas 🎄 to you Adam and I’ll see you on the next vlog adventure peace ☮️ out ✌️
DLT III is an old server backup technology used in the late 90s. The mechanism would grip the edge of the tape and pull it into another reel, and backup an entire business server. Not used for audio/video from what I know
Stayed in the "Autograph" several years ago before I discovered the Woo! To think we probably crossed paths and I missed an opportunity to speak with you. Happy holidays and a "smoove move"!
DLT = Digital Linear Tape. It was used for backup storage for computer systems. I used these back in the mid 90s and early 2000s when I worked in systems operations.
I agree with you, I was down there every year for three weeks for 15 years and I don’t remember ever seeing that place open. Definitely needs to come down to make room for anything new. Did you say that Disney bought this property? I could see a few more communities like Celebration being built. Like you, I love Celebration. in a roundabout way, it’s almost like living inside a Disney park. It would be very cool of that community to put up a permanent merry-go-round and/or Ferris wheel near the water. Every time you pass that theater, the only thing I can think of is buying it, and turning it into a theater/nightclub. Which, I don’t even know if celebration is a dry town for bars, or not. Regardless, it definitely needs some TLC to bring it back, if not for anything… The community. Great stuff. Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
My two kids and I have been watching your videos for years… we still sing the song from a past 192 video 🎶 “you don’t need money on this vacation… all you need is imagination” 🎶 😂😂😂.
Congrats on your new place Adam. I love Florida so I’m pleased you’re staying there. With all considerations I believe it’s overwhelmingly the best choice for you at this time. All the best in 24.
Man that was "crazy/brave" of you, be careful@@TheDailyWoo And very caring of you to help them out, hopefully they can get back on their feet. You are a good man !
First thing I noticed on the side of the excavator was DZWOO. Second thing I noticed was how beat up it was. When the news article about what played in the movie rider was brought up, it made me think of a game in the contemporary resort arcade. Don’t know the name of the simulator in there but it has the option to ride those type of virtual coasters in the article. It’s an interesting ride, not sure if you’ve tried it before.
I don't know if anyone noticed this or not but it appears the back wall of the theater, inside, was being "projected on" by Hwy 192 outside as if there was an accidental camera obscura somewhere in the front of the building. Very cool effect. All it takes is a small hole to the outside in an otherwise dark room.
Physical media will always be king! Though perhaps I’m a little bit bias. LOL. Once I get the new movie library set up in my Florida home, I’ll have to have you over to see it.
Sounds good to me. I agree, I’m in no way on your level but I have a few things that aren’t on streaming and a bunch of blu rays just cause of the commentary and extra footage
Good morning Adam, I was washing up this morning, then I watch your video later, anyway thanks for sharing this. It will be gone forever, good your the one to capture it so you have a record of it on film. Merry Christmas 🎄📸😎
Can someone explain further what Movie Rider was?? I was an Orlando resident for a little over 10 years and I’ve NEVER heard of the Anti Gravity theatre referred to with this mention of an old attraction! As mentioned, there is almost nothing online about it and now my interest is peaked!
It was a small chain of immersive Motion Simulator ride attractions that closed in the 2000s, it basically was one of those "5D Cinema" attractions where the seats moved to a short film. There was a second location Pigeon Forge that also was shuttered and then torn down, it was replaced by the "Gatorland" Gift Shop. (Personally, I don't understand why they would build a Gator themed gift shop in the Smokies.)
That act of kindness , giving both of those people money to help them out was truly beautiful.❤️You know, Adam, you never cease to amaze me! You’re the best!
"Gatorade bottles filled with..something"...you remember in Dumb and Dumber when the police officer pulled them over and demanded them to hand over one of the beer bottles and took a drink?? Yeah, might be that "something"
I do remember when it was Movie Rider and the outside theming. It was a row people riding on a film strip. Also i remember riding Red Rock Run at Niagara Falls in their tourist strip called Clifton Hill. Also it’s unfortunate seeing 192 in its current state.
I still love to collect VHS. I know many collectors hate the clamshell cases but I don't mind them. I want to make a mini video store/blockbuster at home one day.
VHS tapes of Disney movies use to be common in thrift stores and pawn shops at very cheap prices. With the revised interest in VHS, prices on those tapes seems to be going up. The iconic clamshell cases were designed to be kid proof which is why they were common on Disney tapes.
Strange that you mentioned tasty Indian food as you were bringing in a toilet shelf ....what an odd leeway into the smells of the area. Guess I am in a weird mood today 😂
We was in florida back in april/May and had breakfast at the cracker barrel next door to the anti gravity theatre, it was very busy with homeless people etc, the cracker barrel staff told us then it was being torn down soon.
There is another public parking lot that I park in all the time. It’s like no one knows it’s there and so most of the time it is pretty empty. That’s why I love it. 😁😁😁
That was very interesting. That might be a good Project for you after you retire from daily blogs. You can do a documentary on the history of 192. (I'm just thinking out loud.)
The community lots should be residents only & guest with permits ,it would solve alot of issues with the parking, its not right for residents of the community to park blocks away because of the Christmas decorations or Halloween
