Thanks for sharing this video. I've watched a ton of your informative videos and I had questions about your setup and layout. After watching this, all my questions have been answered. Incredible collection and setup! You do a tremendous job with your videos! Keep up the fabulous work!
It’s a beautiful room and I thank you for sharing it with us. As you predicted, I do have an OCD hissy fit with collections not alphabetized. Separate by genre. Then all you have to do is leave a few inches room for each shelf. Slide others down once a year. It’s no big deal. I would also be driven nuts by all the glare on the tv screen. Invest in window treatments. It’s a sweet room with a great collection! Thanks for posting.
Awesome work on the tour video man! Great room, and great movie collection. I really like the way you did your speaker setup, I'll bet it sounds awesome in there! Please keep up the excellent work on your videos.
Media room is the way to go, never understood a theater in your house, very cozy. Recently moved my HT into a larger rectangular room so I can relate. Congrats.
Great movie room! I am still working on getting my bedroom converted into more of a den for the purpose of getting the most enjoyment out of my entertainment. This video definitely gave me some ideas.
A man of many interests. Thanks for the tour. I especially liked the theater seating you acquired for such a reasonable price. I think that's the direction I want to go as opposed to a big ol couch.
Fantastic room tour, its actually refreshing to see another collector talk about trading and giving movies away to charity, I only have room for about 800 movies so I always have to refresh my collection, its a good way to get rid of movies you know deep down you will probably never watch again, love your 4K reviews also, going 4K soon so I always know which ones to get. Thanks mate
Nice movie room man. I have a room of my own in the basement. I don't have nearly as many movies as you do though. Lol. My room is a jack of all trades room as I have movies, toys, comic books, and CDs on display down here. I have two shelves for DVDs and Blu-rays and each shelf is set up chronologically with TV shows on the top shelf and movies on the bottom.
Great room, collection, and memorabilia. Like the Butler jersey. Hopefully he's on his game right now because my local Titans Def is really becoming depleted. Merry Christmas Sir...! 🌟🎁🎄
I've started using DiscSox sleeves for my collection of 4K movies (~120 movies). Cases just started taking up way too much room and, as you mentioned, just annoying to keep organized when you're constantly adding new movies. Sleeves allow me to keep the cover art and holds 3 disc. Only cases I have now are my steelcases and bluray. Have about 400 regular blu ray; I ripped them and watch them via Plex most of the time. usually only watch in casual settings (e.g. cooking dinner background noise).
I recently bought 3 new tall movie shelves as the collection seems to always grow and decided on a new way to sought them. Main change was a shelf by the name of an actor eg. Tom Hanks, so all of the actors movies go there and then eg. Nicholas Cage and so on. Then its a comedy section, Horror, romance, classics broken into genres, thriller, my favorites and on and on. Also, each shelf unit leave room for future additions.
Films at home wow I really enjoyed your home theater video. Great job. By the way What model Samsung TV do u own? And what kinda Reciever do u have and how many channels is your Reciever? I own the Samsung Q90R tv. And I own the Onkyo TX-RZ1100 Reciever. My Onkyo is a 9.2ch but I am plugging into my Pre-outs with a 2 ch Amplifier so I can run my 2 in ceiling speakers. The other 2 in ceiling speakers can plug right into my Onkyo TX-RZ1100 Reciever.. I own the Klipsch RP-8000F Klipsch RP-504C Klipsch RP-502S Klipsch RP-500SA 4 Klipsch PRO-180RPC In ceiling speakers 2 Klipsch SPL-150SW Subwoofers
Hey Jeff, I have a little over 1200 titles and I had to figure out a system to organize them. I started to alphabetize them and quickly realized that would be a hassle. I don't store them out in the open, I filled up the drawers in three entertainment centers and then started storing them in three drawer plastic bins. I created a list of all my movies on my tablet and gave each entertainment center and each storage bin a location number. I did alphabetize them but I did each drawer separately. The list on the tablet with locations makes it easy to locate a title. I'm sure there are numerous ways to organize them but I found this worked pretty good.
Finally decided to start buying 4k movies and i've been watching your review videos the last few weeks. Picked up Dunkirk, Dark Knight, Blade Runner and Matrix Trilogy based off your recommendations. Thanks for all the content.
Nice setup bro. I run my Xbox one x to my 65 inch curved Samsung 4k. I love it but not sure if im maximizing settings. I'll look through your vids to see if you show your tv setup. If you don't have one please show us whats your set up. Thank you and enjoy ur channel.
Why not mount the SVS Prime Elevations as high as possible on the front wall? Don't you want the most separation between the lower channels and the heights?
@@JeffRauseo Oh ok, just curious. I've never heard the prime elevations so if they sound great where they are, all the power to ya. I just have 4 cheap Micca bookshelf speakers mounted on the ceiling.
Wes-Fish Care they do sound great. Highly recommend everything SVS. They make great stuff. The Elevations can be used as bookshelf surrounds too - super versatile.
@@JeffRauseo I just upgraded my 5.0 ear-level speakers from Onkyo HTiB to Polk T series with an S35 center and I'm loving them (still have onkyo sub). Theres always better so I'll definitely look at SVS in the future. Love the channel by the way, keep up the good work! New theater room looks awesome.
I have my elevations mounted as far up on the wall as possible. I haven't tried different positions but i assume it would give a more passing overhead effect. Small note i would probably go nuts if someone put stuff on top of my center channel :D i would freak out if it gets scratches. i love that piano black it's so gorgeous. Even if i need to dust it off often.
Heeeyy, I spied Queen at Montreal '81, great show! (Queen is my favorite band ever :p) Definitely one of their best. One of my favorites is the Hammersmith '79 show, though that show wasn't officially released and the video of the entire show hasn't made it out to the public, but a good chunk of it is available.
wow ... you really understand me .... i mean finally i find a room for movies junkies and that cool i really admire that ... i took many ideas from your room ... but man you missing something ... i mean wheres the tv series .
I personally do Genre then Alphabetical in each genre just makes it so easy to find stuff. My friends come over and name movies to see how well I know my shelves and it’s so fast that way
I have many people telling me to alphabetize my collection but I tell them the same thing as you mention in this video. If I purchase say 10 movies at once I'm not going to move around 8000+ movies/videos over just to make room for the new stuff. I have mine similar to yours but I organize by genre and by actor. Also my TV box sets have there own spot as well.
Hi There, firstly Love the channel new to it, but loving the great content Jeff! What i was wondering was though is where did you get your shelving from at the start of this video its exactly the kind of shelving im looking for, for my collection? is it Ikea by any chance, thanks for all your help and keep up the great content :)
Man cool you have the friday the 13th steel box set. I also was smart and picked it up upon release. People want stupid money on ebay. Definitely a keeper.
What do you use for 4k blurays. I have the oppo 203 superb player also the new Panasonic 9000 is a fantastic 4k piece of kit. Nice video plenty of bluray discs I had to downsize my collection recently so I sold off a lot and bought sleeves for the others getting rid of the cases saves a lot of space but still have about 2000 titles
Great collection. The way you organize would drive me crazy, but I get it. I try to keep mine alphabetized, but it is a pain in the ass to have to keep shuffling them around.
Can someone explain to me the difference between projector and TV? I’ve been wanting to get something to watch movies on and I don’t know which is best.
Love your channel. It's really awesome (could do without the Red Sox stuff...lol - Go Yankees!). Your collection is amazing. I noticed you mentioned your Samsung 55" t.v. I'd be interested to know which model QLED it is and how you feel motion looks with sports, etc...? Thanks for what you do. Great work 👍
Its a JS8500 I believe? I’d need to double check. Could be KS8500. It was a higher end QLED but it’s a couple years old now. I honestly haven’t watched sports on it - it’s just for movies - but video games look and play great on it.
I guess the order on the shelf varies from person to person. My brother recently arranged his based on release date of the film, but mine is still mostly in genres. Genres is good if you automatically associate certain movies together. For example, I think of Tarantino's movies as Tarantino movies. I think of Arnie and Sly movies rather than treating them as individual films. I have scifi adventure like Event Horizon, Pitch Black, Life etc.
Nice tour. You should put affiliate links in the description. Only nitpick is that your seating is outside of the sweet spot. But I understand sometimes you gotta compromise to the room. But if you're ever bored pull the stage right speaker closer to your chairs and push your chairs up and watch one of your favorite movies and let us know what you think ^_^
