Blue Sky Studios was a computer animation film company based in Greenwich, CT and was owned by 20th Century Fox and The Walt Disney Company. It was introduced in February 1987 by those two companies. On that year, Blue Sky Studios officially launched their animation film studio. For the past two decades, it would create animated films and preview them in theaters. These movies include Ice Age (5 movies), Robots, Rio (2 movies), Horton, Epic, The Peanuts Movie, Ferdinand, and Spies in Disguise. All of those movies are created and produced by Blue Sky Studios. After January 2021, it was announced that Blue Sky Studios will officially cease operations on April 1, 2021, after 20th Century Fox’s name change by the Walt Disney Company. Fly high, Blue Sky. We will all miss you. UPDATE: When I looked online or in stores, I saw that nothing has happened to our favorite Blue Sky movies, especially after its shutdown. They’re still available to own on Blu-Ray/DVD and to rent.
