Movies that define me: Pulp Fiction, Trainspotting, Oldboy, Shawshank Redemption, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Requiem For a Dream, Taxi Driver

Movies that define my life would be: Terminator 2, Fight Club, The Dark Knight trilogy, Man of Steel, Jurassic Park/The Lost World Jurassic Park, How to Train Your Dragon, Bridge to Terabithia, and Toy Story trilogy. These movies are either ones I grew up with or left a huge impact on my life.

American Beauty and Fight Club both came out within a year of each other and both movies had the same message to not let your life revolve around material wealth and I've taken that to heart.

I'd like to have that distinction between movies that I love and movies that defined my life. For many people out there it might not be like a masterpiece, but when I was a kid, I would watch Spider-Man like every other day.. I literally know this movie by heart and I think it may have tought me some moral values... The same goes for "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button".

Dazed & Confused - Perfectly sums up my teenage years, just hanging around with friends and having a good time. I genuinely miss those days too. Disney's Peter Pan - Totally shaped my imagination, defined my childhood, and the moral of the story still resonates with me as an adult. Harry Potter series - Grew up with this franchise, made me love reading, taught me so many things, I could honestly write a book on why it defines me. The Dark Knight - I'm a Batman fan, and the Joker is my all time favorite villain. What more is there to say? Mallrats - My primary hangout place! Dead Poets Society - I had a teacher just like Mr. Keating, and ironically, was my English teacher. The School of Rock - I had a teacher like Dewey Finn as well, it was my band director. This movie depicted a typical day in class lol. Whiplash - I'm a drummer, that's all there is to it. Home Alone - I'm the youngest in my family, was pretty mischievous, and totally set up boobie traps in my house just or the hell of it.

I've always wanted to make a movie channel like you are doing but you are doing such an amazing job, no ideas come to my mind. movies that define my life, well there are a couple. 1) The dark knight rises: it defined me because i will fight for whats needed until the end, and come back to help out my friends when they think they lost me. 2) One flew over the cuckoo's nest: I have that seriousness but with my little sense of crazy and humor to go along with it. 3) Django Unchained: When i loose the ones i love, i will stop at nothing to get them back, and if i was alive around that time i would probably of pulled a Christoph Waltz with all the legal dead or alive stuff. there are probably a lot others, but who knows.

Good list! Shawshank is my favorite movie of all time. Because the story is a timeless classic. I could relate to Andy feeling wrongly imprisoned and trapped in a world of chaos and utter pain. But some how he manages to find the best in his friends and everything around him.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World? Yeah. Although the gamer aspect is cool and all, it's the whole character study of Michael Cera in that movie that really defines my life. From the way he acts, to his sometimes poor decisions (and his kind of failing love life) I adore this movie and it is a strong contender for my favorite movie of all time, just because of how much it is influenced. The first time I watched it, it inspired me to call up the woman I love, but had lost touch with, and rekindle that relationship

Star wars, LOTR, Jurrasic Park, Toy Story, Gladiator, Terminator 2, Iron giant, Back to the Future and Godzilla 1998 (yep, but for a 4 year old i loved the big lizard,not any more of course). Those movies where my childhood. There are many more but those are my favourites when i was a kid and all but the Star Wars prequel trilogy and godzilla i love today, there are many movies now that i am older that i never saw when i was younger that i absolutely adore. But they never defined me and gave me great memories like these did.

For me no doubt it's Star Wars a New Hope. I first saw it when I was 9 (1985) when I first taped it on video - after seeing it, it made me realise the scope of what movies could achieve and that the only limit was the imagination. Other flicks that defined my life were Rope, The Good, the bad and the Ugly, The Shawshank Redemption, and Pulp Fiction.

Some flicks that define my life would have to be Donnie Darko, Fight Club, and Pulp Fiction.

1= Terminator 2 Judgement Day= It's the earliest memory I have of watching any movie in my life. 2= Watchmen = It not demonstrated but also voices my views on humanity at least at the time, but also I actually do like some of the lines in that movie and one I feel I could identify with. 3= Disney Frozen = It changed me for the better, I wasn't exactly one of those people you would want to be around pre Disney Frozen. And of course the songs, the songs aren't just songs to me they are much more, so much so I choose not to sing it or listen to it on any old time of the day. And finally I could identify with Elsa at times I think most of us can. With being an outcast and all. 4= Ironman = Before Ironman I wasn't aware or cared what Superheroes or Comic Books where. And now I say most of my collection is made of Comic Book Movies and TV Shows. So in a way I lacked interest until Ironman came along. 5= And finally, this is so embarrassing. MIB (Men In Black) = I used to watch and try to do the dance moves and sing the theme of Men In Black by Will Smith whenever I was alone and no one was watching when I was little. And because of it later on in life I got interested in Rap along with a whole host of other genre of music, when I finally discovered Music and Music Videos officially. And The MIB Soundtrack was the first Soundtrack that I every bought and owned with my parents money of course, I do know why was supposed to buy The Monthly Bus Pass with that money but instead I bought the MIB CD, lucky I was given more money to buy that Monthly Bus Pass for the time. And I guess I was kind of obsessed with MIB at the time and I didn't even know it, it was the second thing in my life that I was obsessed with after the Mighty Morphing Power Rangers.

I honestly don't know one single movie that defines my life, I know few that do

Kick-ass and Superbad. Both movies came out when I was in high school, and every Friday reminded me of the plot of Superbad, and I always wanted to go out and fight crime. I still think a lot about these movies and watch them a lot.

actually flick you can go straight from american psycho to home alone, pat baitman and kevin from home alone share very similar traits, they both get up in the morning, look in the mirror and talk to themselves about insignificant stuff. ive never looked at home alone the same way since realizing that lol!

Music has had more of an effect on my character than movies honestly. I just really can't remember a movie that has changed me. I can remember plenty that I absolutely love but I never really felt they molded my persona.

All those films really define me except for American Psycho hehehe Though it is a great film. I would add The Sandlot, Green Mile and every other Tom Hank film, almost every film with the late great Robin Williams, John Cusack, and Johnny Depp as well as The Crow with the late Brandon Lee. Also, I watched alot of action films with all of the iconic action stars such as Bruce Lee, Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean Claude Van Damme, Jet Li, Jackie Chan and even Michael Dudikoff with the American Ninja Series. Along with almost every Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elmst. film and romantic comedy out there. That was pretty much my childhood;)

Great list. For me it would be a combination of Avengers Assemble and Man Of Steel, alongside The Dark Knight Trilogy as movies that got me into comic book films in the first place. In addition Inception and Argo would be in there for introducing me to those really smart crazy films that are out there. Also nearly all of the Pixar/Disney combo films as nearly all of them are awesome and define a lot of peoples childhoods in one way or another. Plus The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy for introducing me to these huge epic films and showing me masterful scores that I would go on to adore so dearly. :)

Good list John, I knew Point Break would be here. You probably heard Hollywood wants to remake it and I don't think anyone likes that idea. I agree it's good, I seen it only twice but it's not special to me. Speed is special to me, I seen it when I was a little kid and it's my first Keanu Reeves movie.
