Here is a video from a different vantage point!
I stuck my GoPro to the corner of a 4x8 sheet as I moved it from my sheet metal storage rack to my plasma table for cutting!
I hope you enjoy this video, and if you do, like, share, and subscribe!
Thanks for watching!

You clearly have a very good eye for design and function. Keep up the videos. Your channel will take off pretty quickly.

Thanks Wolfgang this helps a lot! Going to have to get some magnets too!

Those magnets work great for steel, but not so much for stainless or aluminum!😁

Very nice process. Epoxy magnets on a Sharpie and tape measure and leave them on the lifting arm.

I think that's a very clever way to efficiently move sheets. However with the low cost electric hoists available these days I think it would be good to have one instead of all the motion of hand pulling the manual chain hoist, with the chain dragging all over things. Nice setup!

I will have to look into one of those electric hoists!!! Thanks for the feedback and the tip!!!

Yes! At first that was what I was expecting to see. We are in the process, the brain storm and design stage of a x/y electric trolley hoist system in are 64’x32’ & 24’ high Shop. There was already two large I Beams affixed over head from left to right In the middle of the shop, splitting the difference front to back. Which leads us to believe this was already the previous owners intention at some point. I am super excited to get it rolling(haha a pun.). The greatest thing of having this large shop was and still honestly is the fork lift. Oh my, does that thing come in handddyyy. In more ways than one would expect! And the load off the back is just amazing! But there are times, rather often, where you’ve got to many projects spread out every where in the shop and just can’t manage operating the fork lift. The overhead joist trolley hoist will surely resolve this. Special with moving large barrels. We use a rather large West Oil Heater, which sits at the very back of the shop. Granted we use all the oil we go thru, but it’s not enough, so every few weeks we pick up a truck load worth of used oil. Manual moving all these to the rear of the shop is a huge dragggg. This trolley joist can’t be functioning soon enough! Thanks for all the videos, and attention to detail, I’ve learned a lot. The Lord has blessed you with the fantastic ability to convey your thoughts and share your knowledge in the most meaningful and understand or way. May Christ move in your life further more that you are able to reach more and more to share your knowledge and infectious passion, Stay Blessed kind sir. (Apologies on the long winded comment, I get overly excited at times and don’t realize my enthusiasm detracts from my perception…)

@@APinTheAK Sounds great. One man shop and I have 4 forklifts, they are like a good horse to a cowboy.

Vevor and a few other companies make some smaller electric winches that are not t to expensive, check them out and stop yanking your chain LoL Nice setup though I am getting ideas for my build. I am going to a roller extension on the racks, keep in mind you only need to extend them about 60% of the way to get your lifting magnets on the sheets..

Loved this video. I just purchased a Swift-Cut plasma table setup including an 85 amp Hypertherm torch, so this is very relevant to me. Could you possibly show the rest of the lifting gantry setup that was not in the frame as it heads to the ceiling? Any details on the beam that carries the weight and moves across the ceiling would be very helpful also. Thanks! Looking forward to whatever you cover for your next video.

Hi Dave! Congrats to your Swift- Cut plasma table! I have the same cutting unit and couldn't ne happier! I have a video that shows me using my sheet stock rack and jib crane setup from a little further back! Feel free to check it out!

Where did you get the beam from? Looking to make this myself, and if you make it what thickness material did you use?
@6ldesignsmetalinmotion217

It's 1/2" mild steel! I made this one myself too!
