So relatable, just last month I have an interview with a global NGO. I kid you not, they offered a $5k annual wage, and this is for a candidate with an MSc and over 12 years working experience. I couldn't negotiate so I simply wished them good luck in their search and parted ways. For context, this is with reference for jobs here in Zambia.
Those really low offers made me want to know what companies are offering for a job before I even start the interview process because sometimes it just makes no sense to continue with the interview 😥 I recently saw a role in the US for someone with at least 2 years of work experience and a Bachelor’s degree and the base they were offering started at $35k per year 😥 seems like such a waste of time for a lot of people. I always ask what the budget for role is now if it’s not shared in the job posting.
