I like it when you said that "it's ok to love two countries." If only more people felt that way. As to painting houses, we Taiwanese people usually hire professionals to do that, unless you are a person who like DIY.
Never paid anyone to paint. Mum, Dad and grandparents all painted their own houses, and taught me as well. It's actually quite meditative, Cole. I think you'd enjoy it, and, you don't need to do it all at once. 😉
I am a Taiwanese who lived in Beijing from 2010-2020, 10 years. I like both sides. The first year in Beijing was so challenge. I moved back to Taiwan since July 2020. Taiwan is my home, thus, I will always like it. We don't paint our house or apartment. We hire professional person to do so. But when I was a kid, we did paint our window with iron grating for our old house. That was a good memory. Wish Andy and his family a great stay in Taiwan and make it as one of your homes!
U should try the beef noodle as soon as possible. Which is amazing. Taiwan almost doesn't produce beef and wheat but beef noodle is actually Taiwanese specialty. Everyone loves it. I promise u will be addicted.
I am glad this couple said that they had great experience in China. I hope they'll never feel that they are somehow "obliged to" to say they prefer Taiwan to China.
Taiwan is ranked the best destination in the world for expatriates for the third time in a row , according to the Expat Insider 2021 Survey released May 18 by Munich-based InterNations , the largest global network for people living abroad. 🇹🇼
In Taiwan, normally hired expert to paint our house when it is a brand new house! We will only paint it ourselves if somewhere needs to be repainted! Painting is a skillful job as well as different paints have different purpose!
I am from Hong Kong, also is a student in Taiwan, I can say, in Hong Kong, most of the family will pay to a workers, and they will help us to paint and install the lights, etc... in our home.
I'm a Taiwanese, living in Changhua. I also went to 西安,it's memorable to listen what you have said like 肉夾饃、回民一條街. Not until today I know that it is Muslim district, thanks to your explanation.
I prefer printing my house by myself. You can save money and also do what you like. Of course, hiring someone to print is more beautiful than DIY. But build up your dream home is the best thing in new life. Welcome to TAIWAN♥️
Welcome you and your families to be in Taiwan. I was livining in Kaohsiung and my parients are still there. Hope to meet you all someplace in Kaohsiung someday. (My father is good at English).
My family is also planning to Kaohsiung when our lease is up! We have a 3 year old too. The pandemic definitely gave us time to think about this decision.
Welcome to Taiwan, the hidden paradise on the planet I call it. Regarding painting your house, you can either do it yourself or hire someone do it for you. Re the stinky doufu, yes, you can only judge it after trying it. Just like we have to try blue cheese to see if we can accept it. At least I did. One other thing is that you can be easily spoiled by the friendliness of Taiwan people, as it is something missing when travelling to other countries. Enjoy your stay and have fun here. 歡迎歡迎!
