It is impossible speaking with a doctor in the states! In Mexico I can speak with my doctor anytime via WhatsApp. One night I was having a problem and contacted my doctor via WhatsApp. While share my symptoms etc… my doctor headed to my home for a house call! I was shocked 😮 This would never happen anywhere else I have ever lived!!!

That's the truth. We love being able to speak with DRs directly here. So refreshing to not be treated just as a customer

When we travel to Mexico, we are always amazed of the outstanding service, the presentation and the quantity of the food. Eating out is more than just eating. It is a time for families and/or friends to talk and enjoy quality time. Additionally, the ambience and the events no matter where you go always draws a lot of people.
@dreamlifeinMexico

But daycare does seem expensive at $800.00 US dollars. Wow, I paid $150 US in Tijuana at the border, private school, full time per month from 7am- 6pm, food included! Yes, $150. per month, also included yoga classes, chess classes, bilingual education, and clean made from scratch food! The insurance included and when my son got injured outside of the school campus and I had to take him to the ER for stitches, the school paid for EVERYTHING!

$800 was for outside of Houston, which was actually pretty good, as compared to inside of Houston, but $150 is great! We pay 5k pesos, which is about $270 USD

Great topic. We are Americans that retired 3 years ago in Costa Rica. Everything has gone up in these 3 years too. Still affordable if you live like a local and buy groceries at our farmers market and we cook at home. We both don't drink alcohol either so we save on that too. Our lives are great here however the prices are hiking in all Countries but not as expensive as USA! Costa Ricans don't want to hear about American politics!! We love that because we left our American lifestyles behind when we moved here to Costa Rica. We love Mexico and want to come visit again soon

I’ve lived here in Mexico for 23 years; it’s definitely cheaper than the US (which is really out of control), but maybe it’s time to move to Thailand because Mexico is getting more and more expensive.

@happyslave6783 We've briefly spoken about it, but it is very far. Much further than we, and probably others realize. the climate seems nice and there is a pretty favorable exchange rate though, but i can imagine how much any imported goods costs there

But to live in relative safety in Mexico, you have to be trapped in an expat/tourist enclave like San Miguel de Allende, Puerto Vallarta, Playa del Carmen, Ajijic, etc. On the other hand, public education in Mexico, especially elementary, is among the worst in the world and parents who can afford it send their kids to private school.
@dreamlifeinMexico
@dreamlifeinMexico 2 месяца назад
That's a pretty big over generalization as far as where to live. Are there some very unsafe places to live? I don't think anybody would deny that, but there are lots of people who would disagree that you have to live in an expat heavy enclave. As far as education goes, yeah or still has a ways to go, luckily, for those who can afford it private scholls are extremely more affordable than the neighbors to the north.
@forestgirl9233
@forestgirl9233 2 месяца назад
That is simply not true that only these areas are safe. How safe do you feel in the USA? Mass shootings, school shooting, strangers stabbing and punching people out of nowhere, daylight store robberies... thousands of camping homeless people in the streets, visibly mentally ill and drug addicts, feces on the street.... you WILL NOT find these in MX.
@471CDA

Please tell us where you get this information. My children received a few years of excellent public education in Guadalajara. Much more advanced than the U.S.
@manuelericmijangos499
@manuelericmijangos499 Месяц назад
@@471CDA The OECD ranked Mexico dead last in education among its members and a british publication ranked Mexico's public education among the very worst in the entire world. Look it up on the internet. I'm Mexican and I can tell you for a fact that my teachers were absent often while I attended primary school. Millions of us were and continue to be robbed of a quality education because our "teachers" are both unqualifed and absent. The corrupt teachers' union vehemently opposes education reform and many parents are completely unengaged in their children's education.
