Thanks for being honest about your experience! I am moving in 2 weeks also. I’ve already done the decluttering and most things to storage but now it’s time to pack up boxes for our next space. Which, just like you, will be a temporary place!

I know this is a year old but I loved how you shared the realities of pregnancy and moving, and just the real life process! Getting ready to move with six kids🙏🏼❤️ We used to move all the time but have been in this rental for 7 years!!! Can’t believe we’re actually moving!! Thanks for sharing!💗

Thank you so much for this video. I’m moving in two weeks and I haven’t even started packing. I’m probably gonna do that tomorrow. I have just done decluttering and cleaning each room. it’s also gonna be harder cause we’re in a house now but we’re going to an apartment which is gonna be smaller. Wish me luck.

I like your list with the areas for every day. But I would definitely recommend to declutter as you go. At least I would throw out obvious trash and donations. It is so much work to pack everything, move it, pay for the move, only to declutter it later....just my thoughts.

We did a huge decluttering series so it was decluttered already. I only had 2 paper bags of donation in these 2 weeks of packing that were half empty. Donated them on our moving day--- definitely would have been harder and taken longer to declutter fully if we didn't declutter already

The last time I moved, I moved with 2 months notice. I know that sounds like a lot but I do most of the packing and I work 50 hours a week if not more. I normally start getting ready with the move 6 months out so this was very different. I had my husband help since it was getting to be too much. It ended up being the most stressful of the 6 moves we had. Thinking back now I think it was because we didn’t have time to go through and get rid of stuff. We were just packing everything we had even if it wasn’t needed. Day of moving day and all of our stuff wouldn’t even fit in a 26 foot uhual. We had to have my mom in large SUV make 6 more trips to clear stuff out. To be fair my inconsiderate in-laws dumped us with a fair amount of stuff 4 months before we moved and they swore it would be out before we moved. It wasn’t. Plus my sister in law moved in with us too (long story) so it wasn’t just my stuff and my husband stuff. But still the move was to stressful. This time I’m going hellfire. I did our laundry room yesterday and got rid of 2 large black bags of stuff (all be it some was trash) but it still felt nice.

Your stressful move sounded like ours! We couldn't fit into 2 trucks that were both 26 feet each! Scary!!! And then our last move, we ran out of time packing and just had everyone grab and go ... We loaded a 26 foot truck this last time ....13 cars/vans completely packed and a few trailer loads with a bunch of my van loaded for anoether few weeks before. It was the worst, most disorganized move all because we were so focused on remodeling the house we moved into! Totally understand you!!!

Hahaha thanks! Whenever I make an announcement on echo for the kids to come eat, I tell my husband that my voice sounds angry on it because it takes my voice and chances my pitch to make it much deeper. At least RU-vid keeps it closer to my voice ;) and I don't sound angry lok

Moving in a few weeks with three kids from a 2500 sq ft house to a 1200 sq ft. I’m nervous and worried for my children as they are 4,5 and 12

I totally understand the concern!!! I was concerned that I couldn't pack the whole house in 2 weeks-- but if you set it up the way I did with zones and conquer each zone daily, you'll be set for moving day!!!

You can do it! We just moved again 2 weeks ago and are settling in to the new home but man, this last move was more challenging!

Oh that's a wonderful idea do you have any advice on doing a kid's bedroom? We are moving the end of the month I want to start working on their bedroom. I wish thinking of taking down their bunk bed The boys love their beds. What is your opinion about putting mattresses on the floor for a few weeks or a few nights? The boys are 4 and 6 My name is Debbie I am Joe's wife.

Great question!! Our girls slept on the mattresses right on the floor because we have our bunk bed away so yes, that's what we did! Good luck with the move!! Blessings!

And they slept on mattresses right on the ground when we moved into our rental because we didn't have bed frames for a while!!

I told them and asked them to help me!! It made the process much slower BUT they felt included! Depends on your kiddos--- I'd probably present it as "hey guys I need your help--- we need to take down the beds for our big move and I need both of you to help me do it!"
