Here’s my opinion like everyone else 😂 1. One of the gray couches needs to go back and the other one will look best facing the fireplace and then have the two chairs on each side (where the couches are now). 2. Maybe Drew’s recliner would look better in a black to tie in with the island? 3. I think your bathroom would look better with full, un-framed mirrors on both sides and then go back to your idea of layering the gold one on your makeup side by resting it on the counter top.

So I think you said”tell me what you think”???? First of all….this home is absolutely beautiful and y’all are so blessed. Take your time, take pictures of your rooms…not video….pictures! Look at them with a discerning eye. Don’t clutter this beautiful house. You can have an eclectic home and still be cohesive. Furnishings and decor should compliment a home, not compete. Send that recliner back and trade one of the sofas in for a matching striped chair. The back of the sofa as you walk in the front is completely blocking the beautiful living area and fireplace. I know you love the bar stools but the backs are interfering with the sight line of the beautiful island. Again, your home is gorgeous.

Hi Hollie! I agree, only one couch! Now, I know this is your home and this is just my thoughts. I’d also turn the couch towards the fireplace and then work your chairs on the other side with your table in between your chairs. That way your space isn’t so tight.

the living room looks literally crowded. Sofas are too big for this small space or their placement is really bad.... and it shows. 1 big sofa and loveseat would be better or even one big sofa and just recliners, differently placed of course. The rest looks awesome so far and love the bricks in chimney. They actually make a place look cosier :) Great job guys and wishing you all the best at your new home :)))

Hollie, hey girl hey. I’m an aspiring decorator and I think the black and white picture in the entryway table would look nice on the black wall in hall way. Hope you try it out just to see if you like it. Also I love your couches but… omg don’t take it wrong but I think one couch with two chairs like your chair maybe find one similar with recliner for drew. Then a cool vintage coffee table or big padded ottoman. But one couch.

Hollie, we’ve built two houses and remember just enjoy this part of the process. Live with it. Don’t feel pressure to have everything “finished”. It will be evolving for years. Your viewers will enjoy your content regardless. ❤️

Your home is looking gorgeous! I do think the second couch does make the living room look crowded, would be better to find another side chair so you’re not blocking the way from the entrance. Hopefully you can get a softer color for hubby’s recliner too!

How exciting that moving in day is finally here! In time, I would definitely opt for the 1 sofa in the LR, along with changing out Drew’s recliner for a black or gray one instead. I would move the brown recliner upstairs to match the other brown sofa. Your home, your preference, your rules. Lol. You have always been a fantastic decorator & I’m certain that when all is said & done… everything will come together perfectly! Hollie, I have been following you from the early days of the double wide. Those were my favorite videos because the style you were using then was more of what I personally like and use myself. Even though I am not a super fan of the black and white, I recognize that it is a popular and classic look and you and Drew are obviously happy with that and the home plan fits that perfectly. It is gorgeous. You have very good taste and I enjoy all your videos. Just one suggestion: I wonder if you are making your decisions too quickly. Wouldn’t it be more fun to breathe and enjoy what you have and take time to furnish and decorate? If I were in your place, I would want to slowly enjoy the journey. God bless! I love your home, it is beautiful. Happy Anniversary, 10 years is something to be so proud about. So just a few things…I would personally do one couch with back facing the kitchen with sofa table behind it. Two chairs, one being a recliner for Drew. I think a gray or black leather recliner with maybe some nailhead details on it would be a better look. You could do some poofs around for extra seating. The only other thing is the master bathroom mirrors. I think you need larger rectangular mirrors centered under the light fixtures or large round ones centered. These are just my respectful opinions, ultimately this is your home! God bless ❤️

Allow me to please with compassion and concern tell you to exhale child. Breathe Holly. You do not have to rush to try to style and furnish your new home. Please take one day at a time; relax. Also, get you just a plain notebook, and write each room in your notebook from the main level to the upstairs. Jot down the things you desire to happen in each room. Next, pick a room to focus on and complete that room. Then move to the next room in your notebook checking off the things you were able to purchase and how you want to style that particular room. Your home is beautiful. I would put the recliner in the upstairs tv room (too bulky for the living room) and put two matching chairs in its place instead. Enjoy your beautiful new home!

Just a thought… you may want to position the two couches as a sectional. Closer to the window wall or opposite Back facing the entrance. Or the back of one couch facing the kitchen. Chairs positioned in font of window. It would open the space as well as defining the space. We recently moved into a new home with open floor plan. It was difficult to define the space without making it look the all the furniture was crowded together… it took time to get it just right. Have fun with it . Utilize your open space. It will still feel cozy. You may want heavier rods for the bedroom drapes.

Congratulations and Happy Anniversary! You are like me and want it all done right away. Before selling anything, move in and see what will work where. I have some suggestions with all due respect b/c I know that it is your house and not mine. There is a lot of black and white. How about some wood tones, baskets, plants, etc to break it up on the eye? I know you only bought the one black piece in the entryway and left the hutch behind. I like it there but might also look nice in the dining room with the chairs [if a different option might turn up for the front]. That 20 yr old plant is awesome as I have no green thumb. Those gold bathroom mirrors are beautiful but off in the space. You want them centered over the sink yet they need to be centered under the light. I have a frameless mirror in our bathroom-more oval with a scalloped edge. It is similar to your smaller vanity one. I think a larger one hung horizontally would fill that big space better. I adore that wooden stool by the bathtub. That would be pretty with a plant spilling over. I don't dislike the rug and shower curtain, but again maybe something different with different colors subtle pattern. Yes to painting that bathroom cabinet/hutch black. That would ground the space and tie in better than the current color. It is Drew's home too, but I think his darker chair would look great with the couch and green accent wall bonus room upstairs. 2 couches downstairs are nice but it looks tight. A tufted bench w/o a back would look great at the foot of your bed instead of the current on. Again, I mean everything with respect. It will be awesome I know. Your home is beautiful I love it a lot. Take your time and decorate your beautiful home. In your primary bathroom you probably can find some more mirrors that wider to go across the whole walls and your lights would be centered and would be wide enough for your vanity to. I know you will have fun decorating your new house. If I may make a suggestion, I think the living room would flow better if you move the sofa near the window back instead of having a narrow walkway behind it. And I would swap the other sofa with the two chairs. So the second sofa would face the fireplace and the two chairs will face the window. I think it would open up your space while still providing extra setting.

Ok tan recliner upstairs’ matches couch up there. One couch and two matching striped chairs in living room. Black n white floral picture on black wall big mirror in dining room. And little sofa from bedroom in entryway if it fits across from entry table. Also in bathroom full mirrors on both walls to create balance and layered with gold mirrors on both sides. We all love your house and and I think we are all imagining what we would do. Your a great decorator as well and youll move stuff around before you get it like you want. After seeing your beautiful house my husband and I got so much inspiration and now we’re thinking of building instead of buying something pre- made.

I think a grey recliner would look better🥰

Would drew go for his recliner in his bonus room? I don't think it's the same chair as you showed. This one is chocolate brown. The house is beautiful .looking forward to future decorating.

Congratulations on your new home! It’s looks so beautiful and you’re doing a great job decorating it. Just a recommendation, for your master vanities picking two larger wider mirrors will make it feel more balanced with the lighting above the vanities.

I love your new home !I love your two new couches and white and gray rocking chair. Like Drew I like a good recliner. The color just doesn't look rightor style. You could get a charcoal gray with square arms less puffy will look better. A small end table in between the chairs will look great . Everything else looks absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing this video. I LOVE LOVE LOVE home tours. I love everything you’ve done. Just a couple observations. Have you tried turning the rug under the master bed so there’s more on each side so that when you get out of bed your feet land on the rug instead of the floor? Also, have you tried turning the mirror on your vanity sideways to see how it looks so both mirrors on your side aren’t hung the same direction? You have amazing taste. I’m looking forward to seeing how things end up. Also, I’ve seen a lot of pics in decorating magazines with two couches. Yours look great. I have two couches too. I was told the rug between should have at least the front legs of both couches on the rug. That’s it! My thoughts BUT YOUR house!!! Do what you like and you won’t be disappointed. 👊🏽

First of all, your house is so beautiful. I love your energy and your southern charm. Please, don’t take this the wrong way. Your living area isn’t large enough for two sofas. You have room for one sofa and two chairs. Your husband’s chair really doesn’t match anything in your room and looks out of place when you enter the room. I understand you wanting a recliner for him, but you could have gotten one in the grey color that’s in your chair and maybe a similar style to your other furniture. You can buy stylish recliners that are comfortable. I don’t think you have room for a coffee table in front of the sofas. I feel so bad commenting this way, but your home is beautiful and I want it perfect for you!! You have great taste and I can’t wait to see what else you do!

Beautiful home...Think maybe rug in bedroom might look better turned sideways under bed and only halfway under bed. I agree with only one couch n love the striped chair. My Dad had a favorite chair. No matter how many nicer looking recliners we got him for his birthday, he preferred his chair. So I understand about your husband wanting his recliner. My Dad was a very hard worker too so we told My Mom just let him have his chair. My Mom took the new recliners. Lol...Congrats on your new home!

I totally understand your husband wanting a recliner, my husband has the same request. They work hard and want to relax! Perhaps a lighter shade of beige/cream recliner would blend with the other furniture as not to be so bold to the eye. Your house is lovely and you both are very blessed! Enjoy your home!! Hollie I know you are so excited adding all the decor, things are looking fantastic. I do agree with some of the comments about one couch in the LR but sometimes things look a little different on camera. I am sure you will make the right design choice. You are truly blessed!

Hollie sorry but I agree with everyone else. That recliner definitely looks out of place. If it was more like the rocker it would be better. Also did you try your bed on the wall where you said you were putting the fireplace.? It looks to big for the space between the window. A solid black rug would really make the floor and shower curtain pop and needs to be a little bigger. Sorry. Just some suggestions. Everybody has different ideas. You’re not even settled yet and when you’re there a while I’m sure you will make lots of changes. After all you have from now on to decorate the you YOU want to and it will be beautiful!!!!

Hey Hollie. Your new home is beautiful. We moved in our custom built new home 2 years ago. We had to wait because of Covid in 2020 so we did it last fall but we had a House Blessing. We had several couples over for dinner including our minister and his wife. He did scripture, talked about our new home and a prayer. It was so nice. Just wanted to give you an idea to do that with your new home since you are so blessed to have it. Congratulations on a well deserved home. May you have many happy years together!

Beautiful home. Love the master bath mirrors. The rug under your bed should be turned and maybe a bench at the end of your bed instead. I think one couch too and a different color recliner. For now I think you should put the upstairs TV on the stand thats in the dinning room where the table is gonna go. Its matches the tones upstairs. Also, your gold mirrors turned out great in your master bathroom but im not loving the make-up mirror. To me it throws the look off. What about just getting a lighted make-up mirror that free stands on your vanity & leaving that wall blank to match Drew's side? Just a thought😘 Happy Anniversary

It all looks very nice! I know you are just wearing yourself out! I wouldn't hang anything else on the bathroom walls with the mirrors. In fact, I would probably find a stand to put your make-up mirror on. You could get a little corner shelf to put a plant on or a tall dried arrangement on Drew's side (or whatever he might like there) I know you're proud and should be! I would see if I could return the sofas and get 2 loveseats. I feel like with less furniture the space will look bigger. And more area to move around. I know it will look beautiful with your touch, either way. Congratulations on your anniversary and your new home.

I think everyone is right about the recliner. It doesn’t go. Recliners have come along way. You don’t need to have one that looks like that. You can get one that looks like a regular chair. I would look online and see if you could find one that is a similar style and color to the other chair. And you should have a larger rug underneath your seating area. A rule of thumb is that the front feet of your furniture should all be sitting on the rug. But if he really wants that chair I think it should go in the bonus room. It would work a lot better with the sofa that’s up there.

The brown recliner does not go well at all. Get a lighter colored one.

One couch facing fireplace with two pretty chairs. The way you see the back of the couch from the front door makes your living room look blocked off. The back door should be a clean. opening your back view is so pretty and you should be able to enjoy it when you enter the front door rather than the back of that couch. So many beautiful touches

Your home is so beautiful!!! I have sold furniture for over 20 years and I must agree with you that they may have delivered the wrong color recliner. It is not the one from your picture. I also would consider doing 2 loveseats facing each other to offer more space. JMO Good health & Happiness in your new home!!

I lived in my new home 1 year before I actually purchased new furniture and still could have done things differently!! Maybe your entry rug would fit well in your guest bathroom where the sinks are or in front of the kitchen sink. It's a perfect rug for your home. Another large gorgeous mirror similar to the foyer mirror also would look fabulous in your living room between the door and windows. The reflection would be stunning! I adore all of your new furniture. And I agree that the color of the recliner does look darker than the picture. You could easily find throw pillows to blend the pretty camel color with the couches, fireplace surround, and beautiful floors! Everything says, "Come in and make yourself at home!"
