Moving into Uni ~ Cambridge Medic ~ 2020! 

Thank you so much! This video was my first ever and so watching it back now I find it very easy to pick it apart and criticise, so your support and kind words means a lot :) It has been an *interesting* first year but I have certainly enjoyed it nonetheless! Best wishes :)

@@akumar7366 I'm so happy to hear that you are supporting your daughter's application! With a good family behind her, I'm sure Maya will succeed in her application and she should certainly try for oxbridge if she so wishes! I was state school educated all the way through and spent no money on my application, apart from purchasing the odd book second hand - I hope to make more videos encouraging students from lower income/non-typical backgrounds to apply and show that it is possible to gain a place at university! One day I hope there are no barriers to individuals from families such as yours or mine, and all those who deserve a place should receive one!! Hey thanks for commenting! Hope you're well :) Yes basically Cambridge has 'colleges' which are the smaller residential areas within the university. All students belong to a specific college, where we have our supervisions and get meals, sleep and basically spend most of our time. The degrees we study however are run by the uni, so for medicine, I'm a part of the Biology Faculty, within the University of Cambridge. Hope that helps! Yes of course! It's a little complicated and changed slightly because of COVID, but I went for the central site bands first, with the top two price wise as my preference. I'm always after a bargain and all the prices at Tit Hall are cheap so no wrong decisions, plus I spend very little on food and clothes etc. so was willing to apply for a more expensive room. Pretty much everyone ended up with their top choice. My central site room is about £160 per week (£4800 per year) and I spent less than £100 on Hall food last term, and about £150 on food from Aldi, so super cheap! In terms of picking a room, i knew I wanted a larger room where possible as I thought with online studying I would want space to still enjoy myself and exercise indoors etc. But there really are NO bad rooms at Tit Hall. So pleased you liked the video!! Thank you xx p.s. I miss my room so much!! We're not in central site this term because of the lockdown and I miss it a lot!

@@life_of_lou Thank you so much!! Cheap accommodation definitely did factor in to choosing Tit Hall, who doesn’t love a bargain haha. Shame about having to move you must be missing that view 😭😭 fingers crossed freshers is a bit more normal I can’t wait to move in Xx
