@HBRdesigns I remember wiring up something like this as a kid for nerf, but it did not use a pully, it ran on a track I made from cardboard and some parts from radio shack. You inspired me to build a bigger more durable one for shooting.
It uses a motor & planetary gearbox combo that I found at Micromark years ago. (It's a nice motor setup because there gear ratio's can be easily changed but they are ridiculously priced nowadays.) The motor is powered by a 7 Cell Battery Pack from an R/C Plane. I've added a picture (link) in the description which shows the motor/gearbox/pulley setup.
The dog thinks you're just a little nuts. Nice work. Love it. My range has very little way to attach lines and cords to slide a target down a zip line. I may have to create a device like yours. I just dont want to spend a fortune on the motor and mechanisms.
