If you're moving to Atlanta and unfamiliar with the city, this video is for you! In this video, I compare living on the NORTH side vs living on the SOUTH side and the pros and cons of each.
Hi. We currently live in north Atlanta, but are considering a move to south Atlanta to buy a new construction home. The ONLY reason that we are considering the move is because of the large square footage we can get for our money in south Atlanta. We are looking at homes in the high 500s to low 600s and can get approx 3700-3900 square feet in the Stockbridge/McDonough area. We could not come close to that square footage for the price in north Atlanta. However. our hesitation stems around a concern that we will miss the "feel" of the north side. If we pursue moving to south Atlanta for the larger home, is this a sound decision? Also, we like the results/shopping & dining experience of a balanced racial mix. Will the move to an area that is 70-75% black be that different? Please share your thoughts. Thanks.
Hey! Thanks for watching and for your feedback! This would be much easier to answer on a quick 5-10 call. Send me a text or call anytime and lets talk through this bc I do have a lot of thoughts on your question. Hope to hear from you soon! Anthony 678-918-1340
@@LivinginAtlanta I live in the suburbs of Northeast Atlanta of Gwinnett. The reason I'm saying this is because there are stark differences between north and south Atlanta. You have the elite upper class in midtown who are educated and racially diverse. And then you have places like College Park and Clayton County to the south where it's majority black and lower class. It's unfortunate but no one's willing to talk about it
@@LivinginAtlanta I live in a real starter house 4 bedrm and 2 small 1800 sqft and the house is worth between $850k to 900k. Great when you're selling to retire though
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is on the Southside of town. I live in California, but own property in Stone Mountain. It's a beautiful area and will probably move back when I retire, but for now, I'll probably stay in California.
Hey Anthony. Very informative video, thank you. Do you have any videos on the best Gated Communities; no luck in finding that particular kind of video. Need to know before my move in 22 or 23.
I value my life too much to live ITP. The crime has gotten ridiculous in there. The rents and mortgages are high all over Atlanta metro bc of the overall demand moving here, not just ITP. The actual real data show a mass exodus of ITP for OTP. People are finally coming to their senses that it's not worth it to live ITP with the skyrocketing prices, crime and shitty schools.
@@LivinginAtlanta - That must be why it's so hard to find anyone to rent a place in Midtown -snark-. Seriously. The walkability and amenities FAR outweigh the temporary slight uptick in crime that is still WAY down from even the 90s. I value my life FAR too much to waste it sitting in Marietta traffic when I can walk and bike to everything I need here in civilization.
@@TommyJonesProductions Fair enough. To each his own. I respect that. Overall, Atlanta is fucking awesome. ITP and OTP. This area has so much to offer and has something for every personality type. I also own a Nutrition store in Ansley Mall (Discount Nutrition...shameless plug) across from Piedmont Park so I'm no stranger to Midtown, DT and OTP. Been at that location now for 5yrs. Anywho....thanks for watching and your comments and its always nice to hear from someone benefitting from other parts of the city different than I prefer.
The criminals are driving to Walton County and up 75, one big time developer was killed in his Mercedes in a CVS parking lot , when robbed at gunpoint while his wife was inside the store . The guy drove all the way to a nice area to kill someone , a guy from Dekalb yesterday killed a 79 year old woman in a gated community of Buckhead , he stabbed her a number of times and drive her car around , only to ditch it in Dekalb. So the criminals have gotten braver and venturing North West , South and East.
Hey Trish! It may be easier to jump on a zoom call this week and talk through your questions. Text me your email and a good day/time this week and lets talk through your plans. 678-918-1340 I'll send you a meeting invite.
We live in NJ and looking to move in Atlanta in couple of years for retirement life 😊I heard in Forsyth county seniors don’t have to pay school taxes and I wonder which other counties forgive school taxes, please let me know 🙏
Cobb and Forsyth counties are the very best in terms of tax breaks for seniors. You can't go wrong in either of those areas. Call me when the time is right or if I can help in any way. 678-918-1340
Do you enjoy racism? You do realize Forsyth county is the most racist County in Georgia hands down. Oprah even visited and made a story on Forsyth County. I'm from Gwinnett (neighboring county) and I'm almost 50. I have also lived 360 Degrees around I-285. If you're really trying to enjoy your retirement may I suggest cities like Buford, Suwanee, or Duluth in Gwinnett. You don't have to be super-rich to live among these people even though there are plenty of celebrities around you. You will also be able to find something in your price range I'm more than sure. Gwinnett and Fulton County Neighborhoods tend to Gate such Communities. But keep in mind you don't want to be too far from Atlanta. Because the traffic here is definitely insane 😂. North Fulton is Beautiful. Alpharetta, Roswell are very close to Forsyth just incase you just have to be close to "those people". But what ever the case.... Good Luck and Stay Safe 😊

I will be relocating in October to Henry county. Any recommendations on good areas that are within a 25 min commute to Piedmont Henry Hospital? Thanks for all the informative videos, appreciate it all.
