MOVING TO BELGIUM: PART 2
This is when we arrived in Brussels and took the day to explore. We did the stereotypical Belgian activities which included mainly eating food! Enjoy! (**Keep in mind that we were running off of 2 hours of sleep in this whole video).
Also, there is one clip that has lost its audio at the beginning and I don't know how to fix it, so sorry! I'll get better at editing soon!

In ww2, US and Canadian soldiers landed in France, and while they crossed the south border in Belgium called Wallonia, they thought they still in France because those people also spoke French, when they saw people bake their cut potatoes in animal or vegetable oil. So, because they hear the people speaking French, the word 'French fries' was born and taken to the united states and Canada.

" french " fries actually refers to frenched fries. Nothing to do with France. Just compare a Belgian and a French frituur/friture/friterie and you'll know which country the frieten / frites belong to. The statue you touched depicts Everaard 't Serclaes. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Everard_t%27Serclaes

Chocolates, fries and waffles. Do the Belgians eat any veggies? Do I have to worry about your health? And by the way, it is SO very nice for me to be able to see what you're up to. Makes you feel closer.

There are even some very Belgian "veggies" : witloof (Belgian endives) and spruitjes (Brussels sprouts).
