I would consider myself center-right and my wife is pretty conservative - on the American political scale. Finding a place we felt like we could fit in was important, although we get along with everyone except the most extreme types. Coming from Orlando, which is very liberal in an otherwise conservative state - most of the suburbs were pretty purple as well. We get a similar vibe in Colorado Springs. Downtown is rather liberal but most other places are some shade of purple. Of course, your wealthier areas or near military bases are going to lean red. We checked out other places in the Front Range - some more conservative (Greeley) and many more liberal (like Boulder).

We need one of those rotating sushi in Denver 😅

Ditch the repetitive music. I could not finish the video because of it. Otherwise, great content.

I told a coworker of mine that I was thinking of moving out there from PA and she gave me the most stank face ever and was like "why would you wanna go THERE?" and she said something about issues political wise. I don't care about politics, i don't vote.

I was there 23 years ago. In one of the small adjoining towns, there was a great little French restaurant across from a park. I don't remember the name.

I agree with the B City assessment. I lived in Spokane WA for 2.5 years - It’s the B City of Washington but over 4 hours from Seattle and VERY cut off from the true PNW. I hated it there. I’m back in Denver now, but if people can get past the “bad” they’ve heard about the Springs, it’s a wonderful option for urban-meets-nature Colorado living…and at a better price tag than Denver. The bells & whistles of Denver have honestly grown old, and it’s not the beautiful city I once loved. I just love the westside access to hiking. I’d happily live in the Springs if hubs had job opportunities down there.

weird question haha what boot/shoes are those??
@LobsterSausage
I suggest a ring-road (elevated or otherwise (whatever makes the most sense) from 25 to Powers (21) in the north end and (possibly) in the south end (though, MLK serves as a sort of bypass). It still takes longer than it should in a bigger city such as ours, to go from East to West and vice-versa.

t -43 days to returning home after 14 years in misery (Missouri).

Our new mayor is an independent which I think all politicians should be independent which will lead to more things getting done politically.

What are the children’s hospitals and specialists like?? I have a daughter with severe special needs who needs a lot of specialized care
@chadbaker9514
Dang so since the entertainment isn’t great that may be a dealbreaker

So happy to have moved not only out of COS but out of the state. Colorado Springs was a nice place back in the day, but in the last 10 years it has turned in to a giant dump hole. Police are so understaffed, the fire departments have trouble getting police assistance on their calls. Crime is everywhere. Frequent shootings at the mall, home invasions, car jackings, something always bad on the news every morning. Even though traffic is insane, city planners keep reducing lanes so they can use one for bikes. Just check out how many people have died on there bicycles since they made bikes on sidewalks illegal. Try taking your kids to the parks without them seeing drug needles or condoms on the ground. They used to have things for kids to do like the board walk, go cart track, water slide. All gone! What little there is left to do is very expensive or you just have to go to another city which in Colorado is still very pricey. Homeless people everywhere you go. And that means trash everywhere you look. I could keep going on , but I am done. If you plan on moving there, all I can say is good luck!!!

See ya in a month Colorado Springs 😉

Help me! Trying to figure out if it’s for me and my family. ❤
@OriginalPoffertjes
Excellent information… the background “music” selection had me wandering all over the house searching out who’s tv needed to be shut off from the repetitive whatever sound that is… I can only watch this in little sections it’s giving me a migraine 😢
@mamat792
I've been here about 3 yrs. It is not very diverse. The weather is terrible. The city does an awful job of maintaining the landscaping. It's brown, dry and unsightly, unless you could see the mountains all day. No lakes. Next to impossible to garden. It's difficult to meet people and make friends. I give it a "C" city. Depends where you are from. I think gas prices are a big pro.
