My wife and I are both expats living in France. We always get the feeling that French people don’t even want us to be here, we are like non existent here and are thinking of moving to Italy on the new digital nomad visa. Is the mentality the same there as here
I have a Codice Fiscale from a work assignment in Milan in 2005. Do these expire, or is there a website I can check to see if it’s still valid? Thanks for the helpful video!
Like Paul said, they don’t expire, it’s like a social security number in the U.S., you have the same personal identifier your whole life. Also using the unofficial online verification or calculator sites might not be legal to do…. Or even safe from a personal data security standpoint as well
@@RafaelDiFuria Thanks for confirming, Rafael! For those who don't yet have a Codice Fiscale, it is pretty easy to get before you even get to Italy. The Italian consulate that serves where you live will provide one on request but they will sometimes ask for a reason if you are not a citizen. In my Mom's case (She is US/Austrian), she asked for one and said she was interested in purchasing property. The consulate assigned her one within a few weeks. I am an Italian citizen now, so I did not even need a reason and got one on request for my kids and I. They then put the number in our on line AIRE profile.
I personally prefer using an Italian bank, there are some bills and taxes that become easier to pay when you have an Italian bank account… or for direct debit, they’ll only accept an Italian IBAN from an actual bank and not an IBAN attached to a prepaid card.
You may want to consult with a Nigerian embassy. There are also other websites that give indications regarding if certain nationalities need visas to visit certain countries.
