Hi guys! I’m back and I’m now at my new dorm at Minot Air Force Base, ND. Wanted to take you guys on the day I got here and how I rearranged my dorm to my liking. Just trying to make my new home feel like home.

Thanks for this video. I spent two years at Minot in the late 70’s as a missile technician and will never forget it. Good luck on your time in the Air Force and thank you for your service. Stay warm!
I’m glad the next generation of Airman are getting to enjoy the new dorms at Minot AFB! I was stationed there in 2004 and the dorms were old and we had to share bathrooms! I was in the dorm right across the street from security forces and right next chow hall! The only thing I miss about Minot is the people I met! I don’t miss the below zero temps or plugging my car in during the winter months 😂

Don’t let it get you down! I know how it feels especially getting other peoples inputs but it’s what you make of it. That’s good you’ll be here when the weather gets warmer tho! A lot of events will be happening so you can experience:)
Wow. Much nicer than we had in 1983. When I was there, I clearly remember the night they told is that females would now be able to choose MOS 81150 and not just law enforcement. 👍🏻

Naw that base sucked 🤣 It was freezing cold from October til May! The people I met there was the only highlight when I was stationed there! Being a minority at Minot AFB was a challenge! Do you know how hard it was for myself and others to get a decent haircut!

Having a roommate is required for tech school(correct?), but when you begin your career, do you move out and locate a new base without a roommate? Like how does it work?
I went through tech school without a roommate basically the whole way but I just got lucky! But yes usually you have a roommate and then at your first base I’ve noticed you have your own dorm but you share a kitchen with people or you live in a quad and share the kitchen with only 4 people.
Going out to the bars with your friends! There’s this good wing/bar place me and my buddies have gone twice now and it’s nice. Asides from that there isn’t much with the cold (I’m not use to it yet)
I have a question so if i lived somewhere before moving into the dorm and i have things to go into the room will my parents be able to ship it to me? I also have a lizard so would i have to leave that with my parents until im out of school?
Well it depends on what base because from what I’ve know no reptiles here on Minot AFB. But with your stuff your parents could definitely send you stuff
You will be here in good timing of the weather! But I honestly I liked the time I came because I got to experience the winter so I know what to expect! But I like it it’s starting to warm up, snow is melting, and that just means more going out!
It’s cold it’s -19 right now and feels like -34 but it honestly doesn’t feel bad but feels nice kinda. Internet is good I recommend getting SRT it’s a company and the first three months are free! But cellphone service is terrible.

@@juanpelegrino1245 yea I’m from Florida too. It’s an adjustment but you’ll be wearing shorts in 20 degree weather in no time. It’s crazy. But hey at-least you’ll come whenever it’s summer.

@@juanpelegrino1245 I’ve been in the process but I was told to talk with public affairs before I do a base tour. But I do want to make a off base one I’m going out more since I’ve made friends on flight. They’re in the works for now probably be up before you get here. What’s your afsc?
Hey! Thank you for your service in the air force and for making these awesome videos! I have a request for your next video. Is there any way you demonstrate the stationary movements like attention, parade rest (front and rear views) and the facing movement. I think it will give your subscribers a first taste on what the air force is like by seeing its basic movements done and I think it would be really cool! If you do this, can you record your whole body (for each angle of the position as well) since different things happen simultaneously throughout the whole body. Thank you for hearing me out and I hope you can do this!
Personally so far I like it. It’s really cold but if you know how to layer it’s not a problem (for now) I’ve been here 4 days so I can’t really say much either lol. Just in processing which isn’t bad.
@@mariselakapps I'm in tech school right now for VM but I'm going to get stationed in minot in a month and a half-ish, maybe we will cross paths but for my dream sheet I put all overseas and no stateside and they gave me minot, but watching videos like this get me excited! I know there's not a lot to do but I def plan on quite a few road trips to nearby states and hopefully Canada lmao
I’m enjoying it ! That’s me personally though. It’s cold but you get over it after a couple of months. People here are great. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. Don’t let other people put their input on this base who haven’t been here.
My main question is when do you actually get to use your personal items as far as tech and travel and even visiting family? I’m thinking about joining but I want to do my research first
Yes! I got my car shipped here to ND and didn’t have a car in tech school. You could visit family if they’re near by in tech school but you can’t take leave in tech school. But once you’re officially at your first duty station you can use leave as much as you’d like (as much leave dates you have) and use your car.
This is at Minot afb ! :) I have a video of me leaving tech school and it’s a glimpse of the male dorms (jail house) at the time they had the males and females living together.
