Forgot to mention in the Summer time it is Freaking Way to Hot and Humid , and their is NO Breeze , thats why I always live on the East Coast and close to the beach , OK , we get some Hurricance once in a Decade .
The best thing I did was leave this city its nothing to do boring , I live in Hallandale Beach which is next Miami and Hollywood Beach, and Fort Lauderdale, the night life is amazing and its always some were to go and enjoy yourself.
You need to worry about gator and snake one gator eat my dog I found 8 snack inside my house they always in my front yard and my back yard I hate snake
We r thinking moving to this town, we got some recommendations for nice towns in florida by my wife’s cousin. Ocala sounds a really good option. Moving from Connecticut, we r tired of winter which is really though
I'd be happy to send you some info about the local housing market. Just to give you ideas about prices, etc. And feel free to pick my brain about Ocala in general!
My dream is to get my brother to make a homestead down their! Have a couple horses and live the life. One of my brothers loves to ride the bike along side some nice country roads, but both of them love lakes, and mountains. So I will have to somehow propose to them, that Ocala Florida is a great place to call home and relax, then they can take all the plane trips they want to the mountains or lakes. Ya Know. My rest of the family wants to move to tenseness, and have a lake front house and my brothers and I will most likely be able to afford a horse compound on a budget, and I will stay on the property in a small house, taking care of it and the animals of course. I can't stand the idea of having the money and being where it can get pretty cold here and their. Ya Know. So some how I'll have to convince them. I mean we live less then 2hours away from two wonderful ski resorts already. One for starters and the other tall, has a top lodge etc, and bottom. So I think it will be better in the future for the horses. Just the horses, but I'd have to get them to love the landscape too, and the community somehow. Me too. I'm afraid they want to have their compound closer to the mountains and a lake. Which may not be a bad thing after-all. As long as you have the money for it, and I'm only in it, to take care of the animals, and make some trails for the horses. Not so much of the skiing, but hey once i get used to taking care of them, I could probably fit some time in and be like yeah, Florida was a stupid idea. You know. I got a lot to figure out about, but I do know that I'm better off with the family anyway :( :) Together, they'd make us all successful, and if that means sacrificing the nice Florida weather. Then I may have to do that, but the horses their etc, are my horses! Hard choice!
One great thing about Ocala and horses, is that you can ride pretty much year-round. Of course we don't have snow skiing, but you can always go water skiing!😀
We do have sinkholes in Central Florida, but it's not that common, and they aren't those ones that you see swallowing a whole house. Those just make the news 'cause they're catastrophic. The main sinkhole issues that you see involve settling cracks, and like I said, not that common.
Cool video. Although its funny that she's like "theres so much to do here" then shows hiking, kayaking, and golf.. and she's right you can do those things. But thats majority of the list of things to do here. There's nothing here.
I understand where you're coming from, the Ocala lifestyle isn't for everybody, that's for sure. But I guess it just depends on what you're looking for. We're not Orlando or Tampa, certainly, but there's still plenty to do here in Ocala. We've got some great local restaurants, and bars, micro breweries, zip lining, the Ocala Civic Theater, the Reilly Arts Center, the Appleton Museum, escape room venues, The Sky Zone, the Aquatic Center, horseback riding, you name it. What are we missing? 😀
What I want to know is can/will insurance companies deny you buying hurricane and sink hole insurance in Ocala? That's what I'm most concerned about as a person who just started researching online.
OK, that is a very good question, and unfortunately, the answer is a bit complicated. But I'll take a stab at in anyway. As far as sinkhole insurance, insurers in Florida are required to provide "catastrophic ground cover collapse" coverage as part of a standard homeowners policy. According to the Florida Dept. of Financial Services,. to qualify as a catastrophic ground cover collapse, the event has to meet ALL of the following conditions: The abrupt collapse of the ground cover A depression in the ground cover clearly visible to the naked eye Damage to a principal building including the foundation The principal building being condemned and ordered to be vacated by the government agency authorized by law to issue such an order for that principal building You can buy separate sinkhole policy, and all insurers in Florida are required to offer one, but they have the right to inspect your property and do any needed geological testing. If those tests reveal that sinkhole activity is present on the property or within a certain distance of the property to be insured, the insurance company can decline to provide you with sinkhole coverage. And if an insurance company is willing to issue a homeowner's policy on the home, then they cannot deny you hurricane coverage, unless there is an actual named storm within a certain distance of the coast. In that case, all insurance companies stop writing new policies until the danger is passed. Hurricane coverage is a combination of wind and flood policies. You will have a separate hurricane deductible for any wind damage, and then you would want/need separate flood insurance policy to cover water damage. Again, that's just a basic version, and there are some other variables that come into play, but I hope that it helped, just a little. 😉
@@StephanieSellsOcala Yes it helped a little. But the one thing I worry about is I get a sink hole and somehow an insurance Co. can get out of paying. Those insurance Companies are sneaky. We are still very interested in Ocala but not ready to make the move yet.Thank you for the response.
Guilty as charged. Since I'm a real estate agent and not a videographer, I have to use commercially available B-roll shots pretty often, just to illustrate what I'm talking about. Otherwise I'd be so busy filming video that I wouldn't have time to help my clients! Good catch, though!
It just depends on where you're at in the Ocala/Marion County area. In the more rural areas, you may only have access to mobile or satellite internet. Closer in, in the areas with more population density, you'll have easy access to dsl, fiber or cable.
Sure, I'd love to help! Just text me, or give me a call, and let's see what we can so to find your new home here. I'm sure you'll love Ocala as much as I do!
Good morning I’m looking for a single family home at Ocala Fl 3 /4 bedrooms over 2000. Square Ft in a nice a safe community with 1 acre of land + .Could you help please.
Too bad the cost of living is now as expensive as the rest of the state...thanks to all the Snowbirds moving here.....driving the local working class out of the area.....
Admittedly, Florida isn't for everybody. But some of the areas are so different from one another that you might be surprised. Where does your aunt live?
@@StephanieSellsOcala Ocala. On Top of the World. Its just too humid down there. I walk out in her back yard, and I see 12 different critters scatter in 12 different directions! Amarillos, frogs, wasps, huge spiders.. Na. Not for me lol
@@ChristopherTrott Yeah, the humidity can be brutal in the summer, and you have to have a tolerance for nature, but everything else makes up for it. For instance, I was out in the garden yesterday bringing in fresh tomatoes and squash. In November!😀
@@StephanieSellsOcala The year-round gardening is definitely a plus for me. I planted tomatoes in Sep. and have been harvesting since Jan., with plenty of jalapeno peppers and various herbs too.
Yep, our airport is mainly for cargo transport. But actually, a whole lot more people fly out of the airport than horses, although it does get a lot of equine traffic, that's for sure. 😄. But you're right that it doesn't have much in the way of commercial flights for people, just a lot of private planes flying in and out. That's Ocala, very equine-centric!
