Josh and Kalie from ExpatsEverywhere have been stuck in The United States due to Covid-19 and the travel bans. Things are easing up and they are finally able work on their documents to move to Portugal. They vlog along the way to share their journey with everyone to see how it's done.
In this vlog, they are ready to send off their documents to VFS Global. They have been waiting on a contract from Portugal for the accommodations they were working on securing. They finally have received that and can send everything off. They head to FedEx and give you those details. They had to use an app to translate the contract and Josh does not recommend this app so see which one he used. They also talk about taking their dog and how he is acting right now. They pick up some treats for him and then share what happened to their car not long ago...as in, smoke started coming from the hood while they were driving and a firetruck had to hose it off!

I've seen a lot of people from the US especially moving to my beautiful country. Hope this journey to come live in Portugal is worth it. Its definitly one of the best places for families/nomads/retiries.

This is an awesome and informative series. Thank you for documenting all of this. I'm not planning to make the move to Portugal until 2022 (unless things work out where I can go sooner), but I will definitely be referring back to your process when the time comes.

Thank you so much. We're trying to be both informative and show our personalities. A lot of what we've done on our channel has been strictly informative, but going into 2020 we said we wanted to try our hand at being a little more entertaining. This feedback is huge. Thank you. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions. Thanks for the public sub! :-) Josh and Kalie

Been loving your series so far! We are going to start our process in a few months, so it's been awesome to see you guys actually show EACH step along the way. Just a note on the app that you used. We use Google Translate for the same purpose (take a pic of a pdf, and get automatic translation), and it's FREE. We also use it for menus when overseas- very valuable there. Even tried it for person to person translations, so we expect to have to use it again for the SEF appointment in PT :) Continued good luck on the process and can't wait to see the next video!

Some Guy...Love the user name! Thanks for the encouragement. I think we'll use Google translate as well. It's certainly less clunky. We're excited and anxious to get the good news back. We're also going to compile some of the questions that we've gotten through the last 4 videos and do a video on that. We appreciate you reaching out, giving advice, encouragement, and joining the journey with us.-Josh and Kalie

Hey again, Ruth. You know, we've done this several times and we have grown to be comfortable with it. The first two moves we made were a bit difficult for both parties (us and them), but once we moved to Saudi Arabia (move #3), our families were kind of like, "Well, I guess this is just their lives." I can't imagine this move is going to be any different. Technology has been a blessing and allowed us to stay connected better than ever due to video calls. We hope that answers your question. Have a great day too! - Josh & Kalie

Found your account and your 1 year recap the other day and just LOVE the content! Thanks for all the great info! Would love to get that checklist over here! I'm a check list lover myself haha We are planning to move there next April with our two girls and it would be great to match up if we are ever in the same area! Some other questions .. did you really say we could do online appointments at the DC location? And obviously they want flight info, but have you ever heard of anyone doing it by taking a one way cruise there? Last question .. for the six months of accommodations, do you know if it has to be all in one place or can I book two places, each for 3 months? Would love any input you might have and am so excited to watch your other videos!

Aww, thank you so much. We have no idea what we're doing when it comes to the vlog thing (we're trying hard) but we've been running this channel for expats for over 5 years and loving it. It's time for us (Josh and Kalie) to share our lives. We really appreciate you coming along the journey with us. The job part was always going to be the tricky component for us a decade a go when we found out how much we love Portugal. We both have digital jobs now and do not need to take up a job in Portugal so it makes the visa different. You know? Have you seen the video that we did on Lisbon? It was a part of our subscriber driven series called Review/Preview where this year we've been going by the alphabet and asking the viewer to choose what "Great Expat City" they want us to talk about next. We're on "Q" now and preparing Quebec City as it was the winner of the poll on our community tab. Anyways, in the Lisbon video, we talk about bit about jobs. We hope to have you as a subscriber too. Keep the great questions coming.-Josh and Kalie Great Expat Cities Review/Preview-Lisbon ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1AJNoCvSXvE.html

If you have legal right to be in Portugal, you can travel here. Meaning if you have a valid visa or resident card, you can travel. It is essential travel. If it’s for tourism, you cannot. It’s been that way for months now. This rule hasn’t changed since we moved. Please look at this website.
