There are lots of comments about The Villages but until you have been here and visited and spent some time, you really don’t understand what it’s all about. Hopefully you will be very happy! My dad moved there but after a couple of years grew tired of everything being so crowded, I don’t think he ever got to golf when they wanted to. I did see it it was beautiful.

🎉As a 46 yr resident of Florida, I will be interested to see how you feel about the heat and humidity 8 months of the year. Perhaps not this year, but next. As I've gotten older I can hardly stand it any longer. I loved the Villages when I visited and expect you will enjoy all it has to offer. Enjoy

We lived in FL for 6 years and left because of the summer heat and humidity. We wanted to be outside more but it was just too hot for us. That and evacuating for hurricanes.

Yea.. that was exactly my comment to her. I have been in Tampa for approx 40 years and I am tired of the hot weather, threat of hurricanes, etc. in addition, homeowners insurance is so expensive some can barely afford their homes. I would love to move somewhere to Georgia… maybe in a few years.

No thanks! You lost me on this move. To go from a charming, unique area to a prefab community is not appealing at all. Having lived in Tampa, the heat and humidity is not attractive. I hope you enjoy, but not for me.

I know you were attempting a more healthy, close to the earth, lifestyle there, but clearly, something was missing for you (other seniors?). I think the Florida lifestyle is totally geared towards social retirees, and I see you enjoy the activities and sunshine. This was definitely a surprise as it feels like you had just moved to Aiken! I'm guessing Aiken must have been a little too quiet for you. The Villages sounds like a fun place but, definitely not for everyone! For active singles, who want to be surrounded by people and activities everyday, it's perfect. My husband and I need space and privacy! We would be overwhelmed in a place like that! Wishing you all the best on this next adventure! I remember during the last election the villages made the news , during a golf cart parade. People started fighting, pushing and shoving. Unfortunately if you are not on “ the right” side of the tracks, it didn’t look too friendly. I wish Kimberly all the best, but I am kind of surprised. All the best to everyone!

Welcome to Florida. I live in SWFL. I LOVE your golf cart! I don't think you'll be in Florida too long, the heat and humidity is NUTS! But it's worth the wait all Summer for our amazing Winters. Just wait until the snowbirds come back, talk about crowding! Be aware, there is a HUGE swingers community in the villages. Yup, that's true. Lol

I am glad you are happy but I am surprised. You seemed so taken with small town life and the laid back pace of Aiken. Also you seemed to invest so much of yourself into building a life there and pursuing gardening. Now you’re back in a city atmosphere where things are busy all the time and everywhere you go is crowded. Was small town life not what you expected over time? Wish you’d do a video on why you chose to go back to a more crowded area and give up your pursuit of organic gardening. Or are you planning to put in a garden where you are? Is it very humid . I have COPD and on oxygen . But here on Cape Cod I’m stuck in the house I don’t drive and I’m house bound since the Pandemic and I got Covid almost killed me because my Dr didn’t want me near a hospital . Anyway I survived and I’m strong now .

I would love to check out that community. I live in Chicago, and we stay in during the winter and are finally ready to get out a bit, but we have to be careful out in the area downtown where I live due to potential violence.
