Almost every restaurant in the US is accustomed to customers asking for a doggie bag or a take out container for the leftovers. My husband and I do this almost every time we eat out at lunch. Order two appetizers and one entree. Enjoy the appetizers and take the entree home for our dinner. We save money, don’t eat too much, and don’t waste. Melody B in NC

Apartment rent in the cities is usually $800 to $2,000 a month so you will need a friend or two to split the rent. You can find cheaper rent but it will be in a very bad area. Crime in the cities is very high while the rural areas have little crime. If you don't know English well then you are in trouble. If you only know Spanish you can get by with help in hispanic areas (California, South Texas, Arizona, New Mexico). Food is $400 a month. Electricity is $35. Gas for heat is $15. Cable TV is $100. Internet is $60 or more. Phone is $20 to $100 a month. This is not counting medical, transportation, or furnishings. You have to pay sales tax of 8% on all purchases and Federal (2% to 36%) and State (around 5%) income taxes will be taken out of your paycheck. You can file a Federal and a State tax return in Jan-April 15 to get money back because they almost always take out too much. Also, another 6% will be taken out for social security that you won't be able to get until you are 63. You can make money in the US but unless you are a professional you're only going to be able to get a job that no American wants to do. You are going to work much harder than you ever have before.
@ilonaleclerclifeinusa
@ilonaleclerclifeinusa 2 года назад
Thank you very much for this information! It’s very helpful! I agree, you have to work harder in the USA. But at least you’ll get paid :) Unfortunately, in some countries it’s impossible to make money even if you work hard. Yes, a monthly rent payment is around 800-2000, it depends on area and conditions. By the way very soon I’m going for apartment hunting and I am thinking about making a video about it. Hopefully it’ll be helpful ☺️

@@ilonaleclerclifeinusa That's the way things were like in the USA about 100 years ago. Then the people working in factories and working for companies started forming unions. Back then the poor outnumbered the rich so the politicians started passing labor laws so they could get re-elected. The real strength of the US economy is not in our super rich people, they mostly take money out of circulation. The strength of the US economy is because we have a rich middle class that puts a lot of money into circulation.

Professionals my ass. Most of those so-called professionals are in debt forever, no fucking vision, goals, purpose, investments, high credit, and can’t own fuck all. What’s your point again? When they can be an Entrepreneur, model, actor, writer, author, RU-vidr, real estate and insurance agent. Bartender, restaurant manager, sales representative, financial advisor, trade school, a coach, mentor, be creative, flight attendant, and pilot u delusional circus clown. Be a stinking false 1st century limited professional to compete with artificial intelligence.

so every year you health insurence resets ... you decuctable is say 400 and need to be met before they pay meaning if something 1000 your gonna get charged for a moument because they havent got your 400 but you simple only pay 400 and tell them to bill the rest to your insurence but if you told them to bill it all your 400 wouldnt be met so they would pay yet now say it was 200 you would have to pay it this time its like until you pay 400 you dont have insurence yet like you 400 first every year then your insurence kicks in and the compication at first is just cuz its your first payment so it hitting at the same time the 1000 trips its up like its getting met at the same time its getting charges ya know its like you pay 400 and will pay this so even though you 400 or 100 out of pocket the first couple you still bill the company so they know you paid some yourself so they know when they have to pay everything it makes it where you wanna rush to get in before the new year when it resets cuz after you pay like literally the skie the limit until the next year ....the limit high not the sky

So you just decided to pack up and move to the US? Did you win the Green Card Lottery? Otherwise how can you settle there without getting married? Just wondering as I have been wanting to move to the US for the last 10 years. Only other way is to invest $1 million as far as I know if that is still a thing.
@ilonaleclerclifeinusa
@ilonaleclerclifeinusa 3 года назад
Ive never thought that I would live in US one day. But I met my husband, who is from US and we got married and that’s why I moved to states . But I know that you can move here if you find an employer and if they help you with the invitation.

There is in fact a lottery system for immigration to the U.S. which is weighted to countries that aren't already heavily represented in the U.S. This type of immigration refers to the Diversity Visa Program. It has also traditionally been easier to immigrate if you are married to a U.S. citizen or otherwise have family connections. Also it is easier to immigrate to the U.S. if you have an advanced degree or marketable skills. There are also a long list of Special Immigration for certain people like government employees. If you are interested in immigrating to the U.S., you can find more detailed information at the following website: travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate.html Please not that the above is a .gov site which is the domain for the U.S. federal government. This is the state department website on immigration. Also, a consultation with an American immigration attorney may be extremely helpful.

@@ilonaleclerclifeinusa This is true but this is mostly professional jobs that pay higher wages. If you work full time minimum wage or near minimum wage you are going to have to pay for your own health coverage. US doctors and hospitals are beyond expensive. One day in a hospital is about $10,000.

Good luck with moving! If I am not mistaken you have to take practice and written exam to be able to get a driver’s license. But if you have a driver’s license from Canada or Taiwan then you just can convert it without any exams. If you are a tourist you don’t need to take an exam. Things to know before moving to America - Arrive with a damn good set very marketable skills. Expect to try and fail several times before you succeed multiple times, or even one time. Know how to speak English with reasonable fluency. Don't be an asshole who thinks he's going to show & tell Americans how to be Americans, and what it means to be American. "America" is an abbreviation for The United States of America, because in fact the entire western hemisphere is "America." Be humble, be wise, be damn hard working, and above all ... Be very THANKFUL -
