Local 433 here. If you're going to be working union iron then expect to be working in San Bernardino, Los Angeles, or AZ because Las Vegas 433 is very hit and miss its either a gold rush or a ghost town. Also summer in the Vegas, you'll be carrying around cardboard to sit on cause the damn iron is to hot sit on. lol

As a journeyman out of local 433 las vegas get real slow but 433 is las Vegas los Angeles and inland empire so you can always work out in los Angeles we have work forever especially for a brother like you

Crazy. I was looking at Tennessee Texas and Vegas. Good luck man, lmk how you like it. I’m going down there June 9th-13th. The pay wasn’t very good in Texas and Tennessee was Little little better. Hope you make some good money, I’m sure you’ll at least have a bad ass house!!

Can you give me any information on what it’s like being an Ironworker in Texas? I here you work with a lot of scabs, illegals, not a good work environment,etc I don’t know I am thinking of starting my apprenticeship in Texas Houston area. Is the pay really that low here and isn’t it low for the cost of living so it should be ok? I really don’t know shit. Thank you

@@elcid4593 Im out of Austin, but ive been booming out to the west coast for about 3 yrs now....hardly any conditions, get a 30 min break for lunch. There is no coffee break, or afternoon break. Alot of the contractors are paying well over the scale there, just to get help. Depends on the job, the local companies wont give you much over scale usually. Best apprentices ive ever worked with are from the PNW, they have a great program. Cost of living isnt really lower in Texas, everyone that says that isnt from there lol. Texas is a great place to live, but not to work....for union ironworkers anyway...
