I basically never comment, but I've been a long-time silent viewer and I just have to say how much I love how aesthetically pleasing your vlogs are. They're so chill and so nice to watch at the end of a long day and I just love watching you do mundane, adulting tasks. I can't even explain why, but I just love it haha.
Tape!!! Yes dollar store coloured duct tape. Each room gets its own colour. So when you move you don’t need to write on the boxes! Best thing I ever did when moving
@@frankiholbein8712 thank you for sharing this tip! great idea 🙂 (I hope I remember this come moving time! I don't know when I'm moving, I'm in a rental until the previous house is repaired from a fire, but hopefully next year)
Honestly every time I see how much you are able to get done it really puts things in perspective. You have all these obstacles in front of you and days where you can’t even get out of bed and yet... you’re moving, filming for three videos a week, vlogging, doing IG, going on a trip, doctors, personal life and so so much more! It’s unreal! in case you haven’t been told lately, I am so incredibly proud of you! I hope u learn to slow down when you need to but u never cease to amaze me with your ability to push through and work hard every chance you get! Thank you for that! I hope u have more good days than bad coming your way and you really enjoy your new place. So deserved 🖤
Taylor I have been watching you for 6 years.. I used to watch you late at night when my newborn was sleeping. It feels like hanging out with a good friend whenever you do vlogs. I wish you the best! 🖤
Hey taylor, i sell sheets for a living and i also feel the heat at night. Make sure you are getting 100% cotton (not cotton rich, avoid polyester it's very sweaty). Also lower thread counts are cooler as they are less thick. Good quality cotton is known as long staple or long fibre cotton. In america I believe a common branded type of long staple cotton is called supima. Just fyi. :)
My dad was just hospitalized with Covid today and this vlog was here when i said i wanted to pull up something to get my mind off of things... anyway i appreciate you taylor 💕
Move clothes by putting as much as you can carry on your bed. The fold them inside your spread like a burrito. Carry those out and do it again with your top sheet and then your bottom. Works great!
Had to share this fried egg hack with you!!! On medium, watch until the bottom begins to turn white, add a tablespoon of water around the edges and cover. You’ll know when to take it off but the steam from the water cooks the top perfectly!!!
Oooh, thanks for that tip. I always flip my eggs just to make sure they're completely cooked. Gonna give that a try. I'm making breakfast for dinner today. Some savory and sweet crepes, seasoned potatoes the way my mom use to make them and now eggs thanks to your tip. The only thing missing will be the chili (as in salsa) my mom use to make that I would pour all over my eggs then use a flour tortilla to slurp up the eggs/chili juices... 😋
@@BJW24 OMGee, Girl it worked!! It was so good. Almost all of it. Only say that because I haven't had my sweet crepes yet. I made the dinner today (really wanted to yesterday but my body wasn't coping too well). My egg yolk didn't break until I wanted it to, lol. My savory crepes were made with some red and yellow peppers, chunks of onion and 1 spicy Louisiana Andouille sausage. Filled and rolled that baby up like it was a burrito, lol. And of course I made cubed potatoes like my mom use to. I made a batch of Gingerbread dough for cookies that I sandwich filled with chocolate ganache. Was only able to roll out half the dough, get some dishes done then jumped on here to reply. Going to take my shower then after some meds I'll be filling my sweet crepes with some Biscoff spread and a sprinkle of powdered sugar to top it off. 😋 Thanks again for your tip. I'll never make eggs any other way. Hope your weekend is going well. You and yours take care... 💜
Lol! GlenCoCo or whatever her names is is AWESOME! And she’s still here! Taylor sent her a package recently for being a long time follower and liker and commenter. 🤩🌯
Taylor we had valuables go missing when movers packed some stuff. Do not leave any of your valuable unattended for them to pack, jewelry, filming equipment should ALL go with you. This was in the Seattle area too.
yep! and get a tracker, they're quite cheap, and make sure it goes on the moving truck. i still cannot believe people just walk out when movers are packing up their home, or just let them handle things like camera equipment and jewelry. it's kind of like people who leave their shopping carts with their purses inside.
Oh Taylor. I've been having such a terrible week and I saved your two moving vlogs to watch today to help me start off today better. And they definitely did! Seeing you get sh*t done helps me realize I can do it too. Thanks, girl. Sending lots of positivity your way!
Lol that's a great suggestion! I ALWAYS buy my blankets/comforters/duvets one size bigger than my bed because I CAN'T STAND when a blanket is too small to cover the entire bed and doesn't hang all the way over both sides and the end of the mattress! I have a King on my Queen bed now and I love it!! I had a set before that was supposedly "Full/Queen" and it was waaaaay too small for my queen bed and looked terrible 😩
My grandma taught me this trick that whenever you move clothes, you can get trash bags and pop a hole in the bottom of it; you can feed anywhere from 5 to 10 pieces of clothing still on the hanger into the bag. Then tie at the bottom. It’s kinda hard to explain in text hahah but it keeps it all protected so you don’t have to rewatch, and makes it a little easier to move your closet:)
I second this. I've used this trick in the past, and it's amazing. Like my formal dresses and all of my pants and sweaters that I hang up all go into a trash bag on the hanger still.
I’m glad you keep mentioning how safe you’re being, it makes me feel better about the extra precautions I’m taking vs all my friends that are going out and still doing whatever they want. I don’t know the restrictions in Washington but here in Michigan, people act like there’s nothing wrong and it’s so disheartening. So just thank you for that :)
Anybody else wish that Taylor would collab with a brand for a palette or something?!? I know this has nothing to do with the vlog but I had to ask simply because I’m early on a video for once!!
@@ashleygrant4123 DM on IG. Whatever she likes to use in her videos. I’ve seen her use colourpop and too faced eyeshadows, don’t quote me though I watch a lot of RU-vid and may mix shit up. You’re so right by the way, we would all buy that. But let’s be real the most Taylor colab would be a candle, so maybe Fovever mood which is Jackie Aina’s brand!
@@kalenalexisbeauty9102 I’m going to binge on her RU-vid channel for a little bit today since I’m off, and I’ll make a list of who to contact! And everyone should contact these brands, too! Like tagging her in their posts on Instagram telling them to collab with her would be good lol. I’m honestly so excited and happy that she replied to my comment!! I love Taylor and she’s definitely one of my few favorite beauty RU-vidrs!! Love love love her aesthetic, info and sense of humor.
@@ashleygrant4123 did you start a list yet? I know she's recovering and taking a RU-vid break for a bit, but I still would want to reach out to brands to request a collaboration 🙂
Taylor, you could do a queen duvet with a full bed and it will just be a little oversized. We use a king quilt on a queen bed and it looks great! Plus then there’s extra fabric to share the covers
Not sure if it’s a problem with other brands also but I’ve realized with old spice and that line specifically, the gel ones are only deodorants and the “cream” versions are antiperspirants, which is why you feel like you sweat more with the gel
Best wishes as you move ♥️ seriously your dedication is on another level. I can't be bothered to make dinner when I move much less a blog 😳 hope it all goes smoothly! With love from lacey
Kudos to you Taylor. Where do you get your energy from? From filming, shopping, cooking, preparing for a trip, packing up for a house move AND vlogging .... I'm stunned!!!! I hope your move goes really smoothly but try to remember - any annoying hiccups that occur will be great funny stories in the future, 😉. 💗💗
Microfiber sheets are going to be warmer than most materials. Percale cotton is much cooler than sateen weave and the only kind of sheets I can use here in the Texas heat 🖤
Best of luck with the move! I 100% feel you on wanting a bathtub. I only have a shower at my place and a bath usually helps me when I have blood pressure drops and days where my various ailments act up. My boyfriend has a tub and a fully stocked cabinet with all sorts of bubble baths, salts, etc. I hope more frequent baths help you! 🖤
SOOO with you on the white towels , sheets , and kitchen linens ! I have known this forever and won"t buy anything else . Also, I haven't used chlorine bleach on anything in years . I used to use Gain until the scent got to be crazy and I discovered Mrs Meyer"s products . THE BEST ! Now it is White Revive , Oxiclean baking soda and white vinegar depending on what load of clothes , stains etc. and the BEST is in the dryer I use felted white balls (Walmart) 2pkg. for large load dryer .I never used Tide and never will . Persil was used when Husband's job transferred us to Germany in 1973 and it has only been here in TX maybe2-3 yrs. It is really good but I have not smelled it since so don't know if it has changed recently or not . Good luck , God bless and know you are loved , dear Taylor . Love your work ! XXOO Karen M.
I never realized I've been following you for so long. I've been with you since you started living in the living room! wow, time goes by faster than you realize
Exactly with the white sheets/towels/wash cloths! Don’t know about couches but anything that can go in the washing machine is super easy to keep clean when it’s white. I use wash cloths for cleaning, pretty much nothing else.
I use wash clothes but probably not in the typical way. I keep a stack beside my sink (in a lantern) and grab one anytime I need to dry my face after washing it. I also grab one after getting my beauty blender wet, and use it as a clean place to place my beauty blender.
So excited for your health, less driving, and the excitement of a new place and neighborhood for you! Congrats, and that is for taking us along for the ride. 💗
my fav afternoon pick-me-up: Wave soda, in the mango flavor. It's a blend of sparkling water, a splash of fruit juice, and green coffee extract that has 42mg of caffeine. That's about half the amount as a matcha latte, but without the calories, and there's no sugar crash. and since it's less caffeine, there's no jitters.
Your Oregon video was so beautiful (GRWM, relaxing). Moving is such a great time to declutter & just see how your taste in decor, etc has changed. Very excited for you & I'm really enjoying/looking forward to watching this series!! Yeah, so when I bought my 1st house 2 years ago, we had a move in date & then the date changed to like we have a few days! Ugh, not fun, but I do agree with you in regards to having movers. Makes your life a lot easier in that regard. Take care Taylor ❤ you xoxo 🤗
You should check out the curly girl method! The gel is suppose to give you a “cast” which gives your curls more hold. Then once it is completely dry you scrunch out the crunch. Transforms to totally soft curls! I love the Kinky Curly Curling Custard.
Thank GOD for your video right now!! I have COVID-19 and been stuck in my bedroom and your the only thing currently that makes me a little happy ❤️❤️❤️
I feel ya on the white towels and sheets👍 if you’re getting rid of towels or blankets, animal shelters and rescues usually take donations. Some veterinary offices too.
I would love an explanation of how you set up your couch because it looks SO cozy and knowing that it’s easy to keep clean is a gamechanger!! Would love a demo. I have a sheet over my couch now but it doesn’t look cute.
I had issues with our dishwasher and using pods too. We have a Bosch, which is supposed to be top of the line too 🤷🏼♀️. I switched to seventh generation liquid and haven't had any issues since. Highly recommend trying that.
I didn’t know this, but apparently the gel deodorant is only deodorant (smell deterrent) &the powder ones actually have the anti-perspirant (aluminum) to keep you from sweating. This is why even though I’m CF only, I can’t use any of the CF deodorants since most don’t have the aluminum in them😭 So the Old Spice Lavender is my go-to🖤 I’m so excited for your move &that you get to be closer to what’s more important. Can’t wait for your new journey🥰
omg! I'm the same way! I only use cruelty-free products but I want my deodorant to have aluminum in it and no cruelty-free deodorants really have aluminum. I heard something about Secret going cruelty-free but I'm not sure.
@@livh2290 I’ve actually seen commercials for Secret with the PETA approved symbol, but that to me is so misleading since it’s not actually CF yet. There’s ONE deodorant brand (Tom’s of Maine) that has actual antiperspirant, but it just isn’t strong enough for me😭 Why I gotta be so damn sweaty😅
JSYK, the best boxes for moving are out of the recycling dumpster at Ulta. They're marked LARGE PICK on the bottom and they're the perfect size. Don't buy boxes ever again! (Yes, I had permission from the Ulta store manager.)
Usually if a product makes your hair feel "crunchy" you can just scrunch your hair after it's completely dry and that feeling will go away and your hair will feel soft. It's usually from products that provide a stronger level of hold (gels, mousses) so the crunch can be beneficial as it will maintain your style for longer and can help combat frizz better.
Girl your makeup towards the middle/end of video was beautiful! The eyeshadow and lip combo! Excited to see more moving volgs! Thank you for sticking to your regular filming schedule bc you saved me from being bored for a week when I had my elbow surgery and couldn’t work. In a world of uncertainty you have been constant thank you! 🌯🌯
I always enjoy your moving and decorating videos. And packing/movers are the best. I’ve only ever had two things break and that was over a long long distance. Moving always reveals how much stuff you truly have. It’s insane. I am definitely not a white anything person. Even before kiddos. I’m not a huge fan of bleach, so that’s probably why, but I just like more color in general. But damn I do love the way you make it work. Always a joy to see ❤️
If you’re still looking for more bedding, I highly recommend L.L. Bean. They have beautiful high quality bedding/ linens. It’s a little bit pricey sometimes but I think it’s totally worth the price because I’ve had pieces that have lasted forever and stayed in good shape.
For moving, for hanging clothes i like to get the big garbage bags, tear a hole in the bottom like a garment bag and stick as many hangers as I can fit through there, tie the garbage bag at the bottom over the clothes. Sometimes rubber band the hangers together at the top if they're getting unruly but that way you can move your hanging clothes without having to rehang them all but can still throw them in your car or moving van and not worry too much about them getting ruined.
A ton of people say washcloths are gross (my boyfriend won’t even use them) BUT just buy a shit ton and wash/bleach after each use! You’d only need a week or twos worth depending on how often you do laundry and it’s way more environmentally friendly and sanitary than using a loofah that hangs in your damp steamy shower for a whole month! I can’t use bar soap or shower gel alone, just doesn’t get the same lather or exfoliation!
Buy a twin size memory foam mattress and replace your sofa cushions with them, cut to size and zip sofa cushion cover over. Real comfy. Put one sheet plywood down for structure IF you need it. HELLO {bed couch}
I move clothes in paper leaf bags from the hardware store. then I can leave them on the hangers, and they are the perfect shape/size to put a bunch of hung-up clothes in! I highly recommend! And you can drag them on the ground without ripping the bag open, if they are too heavy.
So excited for your move! Moving sucks but it’s also awesome. We love a change. Also your skin looks stunning in this whole video. I would love a new skincare routine. Love your vids.
I know this is late to the game - but packers are amazing! They also usually take direction really really well. 22 years of military moves, never a bad experience
Yesyesyes. I also just moved. Moving suuuuuuucks but it's so so nice once the spaces start coming together. I also moved my hanger clothes in trash bags. Pop a hole in the bag bottom, pull a bunch of hangers through the hole, pull the bag down around the clothes, the the bag ties loosely at the end. Then just tear the bags off after moving in. Boom, closet assembled.
I dunno, they are definitely heavy no matter what. But something irks me about packing boxes of just hangers. They get tangled and getting them separated drives me batty. We've got a laundry basket of loose hangers that I just side eye every day.
I use face cloths and love them! I just love the feeling of after washing my face with my hands, taking the cloth and running it under hot hot water, then just holding it against my face (no rubbing). Its like 30 seconds of being at the spa, haha. Wishing you efficient movers and span of good health days while you move! Thanks for the videos!!💛
I’m so excited to see your new place! I love decorating as much as you do! I’m praying for your health, wealth and abundance! Love everything that you do and how you show your grateful attitude in your videos. I see it and feel it in all of your videos! Sending warm blessings to your new home 💕🙏🏼✨
I loooove your vlogs but I especially love your vlogs around decor/moving/style. You just have the best taste and I would totally trust you if you'd style our home! In febuary we got a new kitchen in our appartement- but at the same days we got new floors in the kitchen, living room AND bedroom. I swear it was like playing tetris with our furniture 😂 everything was in boxes and stuffed into the kids room, the balcony and moved around from room to room. It was more stressful for me than moving in when I was pregnant 10 years ago. I was in a huge flare afterwards. I hope the move went well and your health is doing okay, moving is so stressful and you can't always rest when your body is screaming for it, then you push through it and everything gets worse. At least for me it's like that. Much love from Austria 💜
You can scrunch out that crunch you get from some curly hair products. You just need to wait until your hair is completely dry first so you don't get any frizz from doing it. Somehow I didn't know that until about a year ago so I'd thought I'd let you know in case you're like me & didn't know that was a thing
OMG, I HAAAAATE the smell of that Seventh Generation spray! I bought one bottle and started using it in 2019 and the last of it was just used the other day [March 2021] -- it lasted so long because my husband was the only one using it! 😂
I really admire you and appreciate you sharing your journey with your health. I have lupus and have had to medically retire from education. I would love to do something online to help children with Autism now that I can’t teach directly. You definitely inspire me
we moved across the country last month during the pandemic and spent a week on the road from CA to NY and it was so nerve wracking lol We had a bag of sheets and blankets and we would arrive at each hotel and clean everything with bleach and then change their bedsheets to ours lol but if we stayed safe with that i have no doubt you'll be okay while you plan this move!! going into the stores for moving supplies is unavoidable
The BEST towels I have ever used are the Wamsutta Turkish Cotton towels from Bed Bath and Beyond. They are super soft, nice and big, and also very absorbant. Plus they wear in instead of out meaning the more you wash them the softer they will become.
Girl you made amazing progress plus you can’t over do it , remember how you felt the last time you totally over did it this coming from a fellow chronic pain and migraine girl, even watching to much of anything gets my neck and head going.
If you have a membership or know someone who has one I would highly recommend buying sheets and towels from Costco, either their brand Kirkland or charisma super good quality
Curling custards are usually intended to replace a curl cream not a gel and they’re usually intended for coily hair so they’re very rich and oily. That’s what my hair looks like if my products are just too rich and are leaving kind of a greasy film on the outside of my hair. I’ve been having a lot of trouble replacing the DevaCurl strong hold gel. Not because of the drama with it, personally I think that’s somewhat overblown but everyone is entitled to their opinions, I just think it has too much protein for my hair. That said, it’s awesome and you may want to look into it. It’s $26/16 oz bottle I think which sounds pricy but takes forever to go through.
Yess, I love moving vlogs! Also, I just realized I’ve watched several of your moves through the years. Kinda wild. Make sure you take some time for yourself when you need/schedule time in to rest-moving is fun and exhausting! I hope moving goes as smoothly as possible!
A lot of stores have curb pickup, so just order it and then you go in the app or online (some stores you call) and tell them what spot your in and they’ll bring it out to you! It’s quicker and you don’t have to go in. Sooooo many stores are offering it, I know Home Depot def does it. Looking forward to all of your moving vlogs and decorating and all that good stuff!
I always enjoy your vlogs. I also have an invisible illness, mine is called Ehlers Danlos and it affects my neck which gives me migraines too. We moved to Oregon from Montana to be close to the only specialist around, before we were so far from my regular doctor it was a full day just for a minor visit! Closer definitely makes a difference in my quality of life, besides since covid I can do some visits on the phone and it is so much better for me. Good luck with your move!
After a day of teaching 4 graders virtually, this is exactly what I needed! I love your makeup focused videos, but your vlogs are my favorite! They’re great to just kick back and relax too! Hope you’re doing well!!
