What a lot of stress! Well done, you have got through it inspite of everything. You are stronger than you think. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger so they say. Enjoy the Peak District and try and get a discount on the cottage, they should have warned you about the disturbance. Try and relax and dump that cold!

As someone who works for a holiday let company in the Peak District and we take many bookings via Airbnb! If there was building work happening that effected your stay, we would be giving you money back or would move you to another property! Airbnb host status is important so you’d think he’d offer you some sort of compensation! ❤

Aww poor hun your poor nervous system was dysregulated stuck in stress and you needed that support from people you trust to contain your anxiety and help calm you back down so glad you have such lovely parents who can help you ❤ Your arm pain came back it sounds like because like you say when the noise from next door started your body quickly became dysregulated again and thats why your arm pain would have come back because the noise and worry about the cats pushed you back into a dysregulated state where our minds tell our bodies we are in danger. You look after yourself and any worries going forward speak to your doctor hun ❤

Oh Laura, sorry you were feeling like this! It does sound like you were just over stressed and anxious, you went through a whole day of one thing after another and it all caught up on you, it’s crazy what the body does to you! I used the experience being sick and nauseous when anxious. You’ve not got long left now and you can settle into your new home 🤍

As someone who recently moved to a new build can appreciate the stress of the in between! Ended up in a caravan for 12 weeks with a long commute and a stressed out cat!! Worth it in the end!

hope this helps with your anxiety a bit I think your Dad was right with the pain you were maybe suffering from TMS (Tension myositis syndrome) I have only recently heard of it but it is very interesting how the brain works hope things get easier going forward.

Yes, especially as it’s through Airbnb as you normally have more communications either the owner before they agree to allow you to book their accommodation. I’ve always had back and forth discussions before my arrival to a place I’ve booked, talking about the reason for the trip and to confirm that we can bring pets etc, and I would expect them to let me know if there’s any building work happening. I would look for an alternative Airbnb that you could move to that could cover your time up until you get the keys to your house. And then speak to Airbnb directly about getting refunded for your stay there. The owner should’ve updated you with the information about the building work before accepting your booking

the air bnb thing is just absolutely awful honestly i would’ve been FUMING 😂 would absolutely be expecting a percentage of my money back!

Your dad is right, you mind is so strong and can cause all kinds of physical symptoms from stress and anxiety. I have twitches and aches and pains, jelly legs and arm from time to time, all from anxiety and ptsd. Your symptoms sounds like classic anxiety symptoms, and seems to get worsened after stress. To help yourself, never google symptoms, when intrusive thoughts push them away and do something else, even if it is in the middle of the night put in a fun vlogger until you fall asleep, having company helps, staying busy helps. Also try ashwagandha, magnesium and iron supplements, make sure you dont take too high dosage of supplements tho. Remember to relax, i bet you are tensing shoulders and back without even noticing it until you remember to relax. ❤

Oh bless you Laura! The trip down sounded awful. Anxiety definately will give you unexplained pains in your arm and chest so I hope you have managed to rest up a little. I think the air b&b owner has bought the cottage next door and is renovating it himself. He is definately out of order not telling you about the noise. I would be so angry if it was me. My husband would’ve went mental if we paid for holiday home and that was going on next door and we didn’t get told that was going on he wouldn’t be too happy I’m more lenient one

When you move again it might be worth seeing if the vet can give the cats a sedative just to stop their stress xoxo

Anxiety makes my asthma worse and I have health anxiety it’s horrible x

House moving is SO STRESSFUL let alone having to plot yourself elsewhere for a few weeks. Your dads right stress can be such an underrated issue. When your stressed your body tense’s up and that’s probably why your arms hurting plus having to push ya bloody car might have pulled it. Just shows how girl power out ways the useless men that just sat there watching you all and being lazy arseholes. Must have been awful for you. No wonder you felt rough. I then thought poor girls just moved in and your buying food and drinks for upcoming visitors, I’m like girl just take a breather and chill out. Ppl can get in cars if they want food and drink. As for the works going on next door, totally out of order, should have told you before hand, the fact he hasn’t messaged you back and I’m telling you if Mitchell was there that bloke would not speak to you the way he has. Absolute fxxckxxg piss take. I’d definitely be leaving a review once I’d left. Totally wrong. Your mum next week won’t put up with any shit. I hope the babies have settled in a bit better. Just think everyday that goes by is another step closer to you having your new home. Try and chill out a bit, do things that make you feel nice. And I certainly don’t mind you off loading and ranting to us, we are all friends here and you support friends. I’m just shocked how you’ve been treated and it’s not acceptable. Are you pregnant? I felt nauseous but wasn't physically sick, but had a really big appetite but couldn't eat for days so I would crave something but couldn't eat it when I was first pregnant. The smell of food made me feel sick 🤮 xx

Been there done that with the cat situation except it was urine everywhere instead of poo but omg felt that stress you’re talking about, we had to quickly evacuate for a fire here and I have 3 cats, it was a whole mess 😢 2. Please see a dr, I used to think I had health anxiety turns out I have a serious health condition that can coincidentally be triggered by stress 3. We literally just got back from vacation and had the exact same thing happen with our 1st air bnb, the town house we were connected to had work going on until 10 at night sometime and it was very frustrating so I completely relate AND I think the worker that keeps coming to speak to you IS your air bnb owner and that’s why he’s not texting you back because he gets your txt then comes to talk with you directly, I would ask him and see or either he owns the cottage next door as well and that’s his worker but in our case the owner was working on the townhouse next door because they fixed them up to rent them out. 4. BREEEATHE 🥹 I really just wanted to give you a tight hug listening to this, it will all work out in the end. Sending love from America 💛💛💛
