Mowers are out here this week too Josh. Brilliant to hear the sound of mowers cranking up again! We do open up the headlands a bit differently. With the trailed rear mower I usually run tight to the ditch with the tractor and just the rear mower cutting the 1st sward. Then I’d do what I call the back sward at the very end after mowing the field with the rear mower. Main reason if I hit something on the back sward it’s when I have the field done rather than at the start of it causes damage to a mower and not getting as much work done. I don’t use the front mower for opening up a field just on the 1st loop. Great video👍
Great video Josh! So glad to see a mowing video kicking off the summer season. Don't mind a bit if it arrives early. Seeing Gus getting turned out to pasture is nearly as enjoyable as seeing the cattle turning out. The technology is wonderful at making the job easier and the head ache from all the stuff to remember. Well done!
I’ve gotta admit, I enjoy mowing grass, what ever the grass is 😁 the longer the better as well lol. I’d love a set of double or triples on the trac, she’d bark well with them 🤣
@@JMFarming yea mate seen that bit hahaha ..just before when you were showing screens in tractor . Bit of a blurr ..( unless it my eyes was a bit dusty yesterday at farm ) not a problem just thought I'd say as I like to watch the " in cab bits " all technical stuff there .. keep up the good work .
Always liked the Vicon due to the three blade turtles, however in demonstrating the krone two blade system, there is no difference in cutting speed or hay quality. Further, the ability to PULL the front mower, as opposed to PUSH, delivers better oscillation & flexibility Only use the front mount mower here, no rear trailing mowers @ this time.
Yes I also like the three blades, until I have to flip or swap them. No quick change system on here, spanner and socket job! We like the krones too, would probably be what we change to when we do.
Nice n leafy with clover, make some lovely silage! I was trying to work out if the front mower was push or pull but once I saw it end on I could tell its a push type. I think the pull type are better and safer but what's you're thoughts?
Be careful putting pto in neutral and going near it when you have the dog in the cab, depending on pto engage type, would want pup standing on a button and engaging it on ya
On this tractor its a setting to choose on the screen. Coupled that with the 2 stage button to engage it there should be no way he could do it accidentally. But I accept on other tractors would be dangerous to trust it!
I probably should have said I remove all the dirt and rubbish with brushes so they are clean without getting them wet. Just don’t like the idea of water in mower beds and bearings
There’s good reason why greenkeepers wash the mowing reels daily. Nitrogen in the grass is mildly corrosive. Over a few winters - it’ll accelerate the rusting. Wash down. Airline key components to clear any standing water. Oil. Shed.
