So much fun having ‪@Brettsgrasscapades‬ at my house with his Ariens Ikon 42 XD zero turn mower. This was the first time I've ever mowed my own lawn with a zero turn machine. Needless to say, my wish list just increased by one item.

I have an Ariens Ikon X 52" and I love it. Since you cut so short, Be careful when making turns if you're striping. The inside back tire can tear the $h_t out of your turf. Especially is the soil is moist. Make three or four point turns to avoid. I added the checkmate striping kit and it is the best striper by far. I live in east TN and have a three seed mix of tall fescue which I cut to 4.25 to 4.5". I have a lawn irrigation system and water regularly. Looks great all year. Thanks for the videos. Yep, I see a large equipment shed in your future. Tip: Concrete footings & slab, stick built as tall as local codes will allow. That way you get either a second floor or at least a loft. You know, for storing seasonal home and yard decorations.

@@JimmyLewisMows just make sure to check with your local building inspector for specs to build it the way you want it. And city hall for set-backs, height & overall size restrictions and anything other city code stuff. City codes and building codes are often two different animals. Mine ended up a 6" slab atop a 24" wide 6" footing with a double row of rebar. But I could build a full two story structure on it if I had wanted. I went with a loft.

For sure. Judging by some of the sheds and extra buildings my neighbors have, I'm not worried 😂. But I will do the research when the time comes.

I have to agree the zero turn world is a fun experience but the cut looks so much better with a walk behind. Reel or rotor. Great video

Jimmy, you said you cut your backyard in 20 minutes using that zero turn. Using the mower(s) that you currently have how long does it take you to cut your backyard? Also, that will be approximately $3,000 for the zero turn plus you need a trailer to transport it from time to time plus you will need a new truck or SUV to pull the trailer and mower around and don't forget about the shed/secondary garage to store it all in. Is lawn care a money pit??? 😁

you spend a lot of time and effort leveling your front and back lawn. Zero turn and tractor mowers will add tire ruts to your lawn, especially if the lawn is soft from a recent rain. Stick with the timemaster instead.
