Looks like your antenna works just fine. I like that tent pole trick.

We used this antenna at my clubs Field Day on the 6M station. It worked fantastic! A good band opening on Sunday provided lots of contacts. Build this antenna. You will enjoy it. Can't wait for the CQ VHF contest in July.

Thanks for making this video! Really enjoy watching portable antenna deployments, especially home brew stuff. Great activity at the home QTH too. It works great! 73

A friend stumbled across this video while looking for info on Moxon antennas. That's me at the end (VA3TO) working you from the Mississauga Club station VE3MIS just outside of Toronto. That was quite the run on 6m... perfect timing for the contest. Similar strong signal at our end... your antenna seems to be working FB !

Yes that was perfect timing for antenna testing. A good opening that morning. You were my farthest contact. Take care. Steve Ad4xt

Does the calculated length of wire take into consideration the wrapping around the insulators or the overall finished rectangle? I've used a moxon calculator but I'm not sure if I should add wire to the length in order to allow wrapping it around the insulators to 'tie' them onto them?
@hamradioportable1630
@hamradioportable1630 Год назад
The measurement is to the point where it goes through the insulator.

nice video and looks like a simple build. Any comparisons to a squalo?
@hamradioportable1630

no comparison to speak of. I do have plans to stretch this design out to 10m this year if possible. Stay tuned.

I have a MFJ Moxon but it is not working like it should. I going to build one of your Moxon and give it a try. I know it will work great. I want to make one for 17meters. Do you think the x copper pipes would work for 17 meters as well? Give me your thoughts on it. 73 AE4OY William Peacock EM-81UF SOUTH EAST GEORGIA

The antenna build is in my previous video, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4rDcUscYwXA.html I used 129" to start with for each element length. Use any of the Moxon antenna calculators on line for the frequency you are after. Thanks :-)
