Alexis Hauser conducts McGill Symphony Orchestra. Performed on January 22, 2016 in Redpath Hall, Montreal. Recorded by faculty and students of the Sound Recording program of McGill University.
Did you people watch this guy?...He is not just conducting, but he is TALKING to the orchestra: "go now", stop now", "easy now", "softly now"...etc, etc. THIS IS CONDUCTING!! :)))) What a piece of work. My hat off to you Mr. Hauser!
Growing up in Zim, I was 17 when I started looking for a 'different' type of music during the 80s. Then I found classical music! I would listen in my room alone on my small radio, and would respond to the tunes crazily, often standing on my study desk or chair pretending to be a great conductor swinging my arms alternating between energetic swings of vigour and sudden stops and soft movements. My books under my feet, all forgotten. I became an adult, I and had 4 daughters who fortunately took up ballet classes at school. And so classical music lived on for me through them. Mozart has to be my very favourite. I love classical music!
I. Allegro; sonata-allegro G-major 0:00 - 8:44 II. Romanza, andante C major 8:45 - 15:00 III. Alegretto; minuet and trio G-major 15:00 - 17:15 IV. Allegro; sonata-rondo G-major 17:15 - end
I dont know why but we often forget that these masterpieces exist. No Computers. No sampling. Just writing notes on a piece of paper. I dont think kanye will mbe rememberd 200years after hes passed. But Mozart will. Maybe some day someone will listen to this on Mars or even further away.
I’m kinda not too crazy invested in classical music, but when I hear it I appreciate the hell out of it. I think it’s crazy that something like this was written in 1787. Music nowadays isn’t necessarily easy to make by any stretch of the imagination, but I can only imagine the vast amount of difficulties that came with writing music in the 18th century as compared to the 21st. Mozart was a friggin genius man. I gotta listen to more of his music and to more classical music in general.
@overhut very much so, and he also didn't have the full orchestras that later composers had access to. This music is entirely created by the string section.
If you ever get this reply : Beethoven's 9th (best rendition IMHO is the 2017 proms one, but anything by Jarvi is ideal) and the 7'th, 6'th, 5'th, and 3'rd The Four Seasons. You MUST watch this one at least once, Alana Youseffian is in the green dress and she has utter mastery of this music. (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aryDMAP6oug.html) Here's a curveball! I guarantee 100% you never knew that a single person and a harp could make these sounds and this music. If you watch nothing else, watch this. (and the 9'th, actually watch them all!) (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_xn3uAHZHcc.html) The Nutcracker - best rendition on youtube is the Mariinsky theatre - is not only amazing music (and cool real people dancing) but for many of us it's suuuper nostalgia too! For a quick watch, here's what most people tend to just call "that wedding song". (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JvNQLJ1_HQ0.html) I'm telling you, these would be a fantastic way to spend your time and get more into classical!
I agree with you 100%. Classical music is very beneficial to our health. It helps you sleep, study, cheer you up if you’re feeling down, and is just great to listen to. This is really the only genre I listen to and I just love it. I listen to it at work on my breaks, and it just relieves any stress I may have. A lot of times I’ll be whistling a movement from a piece, and I can’t stop. It’s also a pretty catchy genre too
@@JohnAckerman93 Mozart, Stamitz, Dittersdorf, Hoffmeister, Haydn, and early Beethoven are all where it's at for catchy melodies that will stick in your head all day.
My son is 12 and he absolutely loves classical music, you are not the only one! I recently went to a ray Chen concert with him and there were so many kids and teenagers! ❤🎉
Sitting at the patio table by my self with a bottle of 18 year old glenlivit scotch what a wonderful way to enjoy a Saturday afternoon while listening to Mozart
Riley, I’m 56 now, and felt like I was the only one my age in the 70’s loving Mozart. His music has brought me peace , calmness and joy over these years, hope it continues to be a joy for you also.✨
Very commendable that these young people were so well trained and showing so much interest in this ancient piece. It is a very enjoyable performance by these young professionals.
jon boy the rule is generally a Piece, versus a Song, as songs are meant to be sung and pieces are just played. That being said, almost everyone I’ve ever heard that has come out with that argument is a much inferior musician. When things don’t need to be said, don’t say them, especially when you’re miseducating. By the way, I do really agree. For a non professional studio recording, this one has some great moments. I think the conductor has a lot to do with that. Anyway, have a great day!
i listen to half-hour to an an hour of liszt, or Mozart or chopin, or schumann, or debussy every night right before going to bed. best thing for a good night's sleep. thank you for all the work you put into bringing this beautiful music to the world. it is appreciated more than you will ever know.
@grainneromantic: Do you sense a difference in quality,- experience- and sleepquality canned musuc contra live concert, if you ever take yourself to one? To me, canned doesn't give anything near as much as the rewal, acoustic, live experience. But I might listen more canned anyway, have been mostly anhedonic in neverending pit of longterm torture
Indeed, don't mean to sounds like the cliche "kids nowadays have no idea....", but it's amazing the amount of information, music, and videos we have available at the the touch of our fingertips.
Very lucky indeed. But remember, it took many musicians to play this masterful piece for the recording. These musicians typically started at a young age, went to music schools to practice, practice, and more practice, go to university to study and practice some more. By the time they get accepted to a local orchestra, they are pretty a master of the instrument they play. So a lot of hard work was put into it - please go to your local symphony and attend their concerts once in a while and appreciate their work in person.
Awesome! The musicians and the conductor cooperate very well with each other, and this is an A+ performance which Herr Mozart would be very proud of so kudos to Mr. Hauser and the fantastic musicians🙏🙏🙏
I believe Mozart originally wrote this for a 5-piece (2 violins, viola, cello and double bass) and I have heard it performed by exactly that, which was beautiful. It’s absolutely awe-inspiring listening to a full orchestra, especially with so many young musicians! Mozart was a complete genius!
I was 14 when I first went to an opera: The Magic Flute.. Mozart has been part of my life for over 50 years and now very timidly I play his music on my flute or the piano..... Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is by far the best antidepressant
World best music symphony orchestra my favourite orchestra symphony orchestra mind relaxed heart touching excellent recording super sound effect thank you mGso concerts World great Mozart Comment no 1
That’s a tribute to the genius of Mozart’s music! You have great taste, this brings so much emotion and joy to so many people, and will continue to do so forever!
This song has been played in my school music class. I thought it would be boring, but it was a very great song. I was satisfied with this song :D I LOVE MOZART
I remember the first time I heard this piece. I was in third grade, and my music teacher took us to see a local orchestra near where I live. I never listened to classical music at the time, but I just loved this piece, especially the first movement
I don't know what did Mozart’a dad thought when he finished writing this but I think that his dad should be very proud of him that even some people can't even play this like me but he just wrote this when he was too young. He was genius. He made me understand the music. We won't forget you Mozart.
Uma boa alternativa é essa obra clássica. Estudos mostram que esse tipo de música pode facilitar a memorização e a resolução de problemas matemáticos. Magnificante !!
Mozart isn’t a song 😂😂😂. Btw this is a piece of music, not necessarily a song. If it were to be a song it would have lyrics in it but classical music in orchestras don’t have that
Musical brilliance! Mozart is my absolute favorite from the era! He was a musical genius who wrote wonderfully beautiful music. 😁 Excellent musicians that played this piece beautifully!😄
Played with such feeling and nuance! Especially the fourth movement, which is so often rushed, even given the technical ability to play it faster... why would you want to? Bravo.
Never. Classical music is the only genre I listen to, and I just love it. I enjoy listening to Mozart, Beethoven, Strauss, and many other great composers. The nice thing is that each one has their own unique style and way they compose their music. That’s what gives classical music it’s variety.
I think every genius is inspired by something precious behind his creation. Certainly, Mozart wanted to convey something significant to his audience through the creation of this superb and outstanding piece of symphony which would keep generation after generation mesmerised. But, what was that? What message did he want to convey?
